Article 31 in The United Nations Rights of the Child declares that ALL children (not just under 5’s!) have a right to PLAY! It’s a biological imperative needed to support children to grow and learn.

Today is International Day of Play and the challenge is set! Encourage schools and learning communities to 31 more minutes of play in the name of a child’s right to play, leisure and rest!

Today (after weeks of anticipation and self control!) we harvested the carrots from our Preschool garden. We researched a recipe, prepared and then cooked some delicious carrot muffins! We ate them to celebrate our hard work and harvest for afternoon tea.

The children were active participants in this harvest cycle from planting seeds to eating produce fresh from the soil.

We are now thinking about what we can plant next 🤔 🌱

Reconciliation Week 2026!

We are so thankful to celebrate and learn on Gullibul land in the beautiful Bundjalung nation.

The children engaged in learning more about Country, animal play and the beautiful mountains around us. We were inspired by Fairy Mount (behind us) and the rain on our dry creek bed.

At our recent play event we launched our third Reconciliation Action Plan. This is a big commitment for the Preschool and we look forward to leaning into our reconciliation journey with curiosity, kindness and togetherness.

Fairymount Preschool are big supporters of the Circle of Security approach. Half of our team have participated in the program and use the strategies daily in our connection with children.

Attention Wednesday Families!!
