Do you have what it takes to be a mum?!
We know our mums and dads do so much for us! We especially love our guiding mums and dads. Helping us pack for camp, drive us to guides, make sure we have a clean uniform.
Firefly has a fun and challenging relay race to test your parenting skills against the clock (a parents worst enemy 😅) and we’ll be making a nice present for mum or dad too 🥰

See you tonight!

Kyogle Girl Guides proudly took part in this year’s ANZAC Day ceremonies, attending the dawn service, marching alongside our community, and joining in the commemorative service at the Kyogle Memorial Hall.

Each year, we feel deeply privileged to honour and remember our ANZACS, past and present. ANZAC Day is not only a time for reflection, but also a special tradition within our unit—one that fosters pride in wearing our formal uniforms, keeping our badges current, and representing both our community and our country with respect. We are especially proud to carry the Australian, Aboriginal, and Guide flags as part of this important day.

Lest we forget.

Firefly is one step closer to her Outdoor Camping qualifications with a training weekend at Jackadgery, refreshing her skills with a bell tent, building shelters & gadgets, campfire, games, knots, programming and catering for a camp. All leaders have to complete the training, camping modules and run an assessment camp to qualify to lead girls in a camp.
We are proud to have proactive leaders in Kyogle that want to grow and gain skills to teach and lead the next generation!

Karen and Emmelyn participated in the Way to Go Hiking training this weekend starting with packing and skills at Jackadgery then camping and hiking in Gibraltar National Park. Their favourite part was the view of the “needles” rock formations and marshmallows over the fire!
Thank you to trainers Vicki and Kerry for travelling to our region and sharing your extensive knowledge!

Lets just say the feedback on our homemade cola syrup was varied 🤣 Last thing on the list to achieve our water badge! ✅

In Kyogle we run Girl Guides as a Flexi-Unit. What does this mean?
Instead of splitting into 2 seperate units (juniors and girl guides) we run our meeting all together. That’s why the age group is 8-18! Younger girls gain skills and feel supported by the older girls and our seniors get to experience natural leadership opportunities.
The mixed age group creates a “big sister”and “little sister” dynamic and we love it!
