If getting your bike there is an obstacle we are offering trailer space for bikes to & from UKI.

All we ask is that you become a Kyogle MTB member before your bike hitches with us.

Your own human transport must be arranged.

From Helmets to Hard Hats.

There was plenty of action at Boorabee State Forest on Wednesday - only this bunch swapped mandatory helmets for mandatory hard hats.

Kyogle MTB engaged with NSW Forestry to learn about the upcoming trials of producing bio-char on an area in the harvest zone that will be dedicated to research.

They will be converting not only the timber by-products (branches) but also Lantna to bio-char. This is a way to dispose of w**d seeds and convert w**ds to a product.

Onsite yesterday was a mobile bio char furnace.

The bio char produced from forest by-products will then be put back into the soil at planting time to give future trees on the dry ridges more long term water retention during dry seasons. This is a section of the ridge that experienced plantation die back in previous dry seasons.

Negotiating shared use of bike trails on known forestry leased land is something that we have always known would present hurdles for consistent trail riding.

Our club is currently actively seeking alternative riding trails near to Kyogle so our youth can continue to have access to local trails.

Join our club membership if you wish to support these initiatives. Membership helps to boost our advocacy. (you can even join for free as a volunteer).

MTB was pleased to see improved road infrastructure along the ridge.
We look forward to upcoming site visits to talk through potential trail preservation.

Well done to our young MTB chefs who cooked the BBQ and raised funds to go towards the MTB club‘s future operations.

Young Volunteers learning what it takes to contribute to community.

Our club is more than a riding club. We are committed to creating community that is all ages, all outside, all fun.

2026/2027 AGM RESULTS

Kyogle MTB CLUB members are loaded with enthusiasm for riding Mountain Bikes - the health & wellbeing that this sports brings is what keeps our wheels turning.

Wednesday was our AGM - all positions were laid open but willingly returned by our existing crew.

We welcomed new members to our meeting with fresh ideas & enthusiasm for Kyogle MTB - and we love that they even rode their bikes to the meeting.

🚵‍♀️ President ~ Niels Jack
🚵‍♂️ Vice President - Garth Duncan
🚵 Secretary - Kelly Griffiths
🚵 Treasurer - Kirsty Peltz
🚵 Media - Sally Joyce
🚵 Youth Liason Representative - Axel Bowman

We know what a local mountain trail near to our town has to offer Kyogle’s village of children and all ages - aka fun in the best back yard you could ask for.

During 2026 we realised this with plenty of social riding, club campouts, Kyogle High School sports riding days, Tabulum School students rode for the day and we collaborated with Kyogle Council to host a 2-day 'Youth Week' - riding opportunity and a lot of outside visitors coming to ride Kyogle's much loved 'flowy' trails.

This year saw a sudden knock with the - 2 year closure of the forestry trails for harvesting and replanting.

We very much welcome the enthusiasm that Kyogle Council has brought to the table to support all that a ‘sick’ mountain bike trail, near to our town has to offer, not only Kyogle‘s youth but also the fit healthy visitors that mountain biking brings to a local economy.

We know what local mountain trails near to our town have potential to offer our village commerce.

Our club is currently and actively looking at local solutions to find riding locations near to our town.

We are negotiating with private property owners for alternate locations to ride in the interim. Stay tuned..... within in six weeks we are looking to support a private launch on some sweet downhill trails in the Cob O Corn Rd / Horse Station Creek area. Check in to our page for more details, but in the mean time if you wish to ride these trails you will be require to have Kyogle Mountain Bike Membership which you can apply for on the Aus Cycling weblink below.

Right now our club priorities are committed to boosting our membership - that means you 🫵🫶 our friends. You can even apply for a free volunteers membership - just to show you support the cause. (getting local kids outdoors having fun).

Growing club membership helps us help you love riding & work towards future riding potential in Kyogle.

📋It will help us put our 10 bike trailer to use to take youth , women’s groups and children to other local trails.
📋It gives all riders insurance when riding any Australian trail network
🫶It gives us initiative and resources to start back at supporting skills based opportunities ~ to have young bike riders ready for our eventual future track reopenings.

🚴‍♀️🚵‍♂️🚴🚵🚴🏼‍♂️🚵‍♀️🚴🚵‍♂️🚴
Our club is all ages, all types, all ability with the next 12 months committed to riding socially where we can & when we can.

Want to join us & ride new trails with the support of qualified coach members and friends?

Our 2026/27 Committee - pictured with our number one club supporter Cr Councillor Brett McNamara, Kyogle Council. We love Brett's enthusiasm and knowledge that he shares with our club. Brett has first hand experience on seeing a booming mountain bike economy develop in the aftermath of the ACT bushfires. Thanks Brett for all the time you have given up to supporting our club with innovative ideas.

Way to go NZ!! These are the exact conditions for young riders to build their skills long before they get to a mountain bike trail.

This is a great idea for use of flood buy-back zones and a great way to build intrinsic motivation to ride.

🚵🏼‍♀️ The fantastic "self-build bike jumps" initiative has reached Foster Park!

🤩 Bring a bike and a shovel, get stuck in - so many possibilities with the gravel pit/loose dirt combo.

Upcoming AGM - Wed 30th Sep (Apologies for the late notice!)

Hello Kyogle Track and Trail Members!

Our Annual General Meeting is fast approaching! Huge apologies for the very short notice this time around—as a small club run purely on volunteer time, things have been a bit of a whirlwind behind the scenes.

Please mark your calendars and join us for a catch-up and a quick run-through of club business.

📅 AGM Details
WHEN: Wednesday, 30th September at 6:00 PM
WHERE: Alley Bar, Commercial Hotel (97–101 Summerland Way, Kyogle NSW 2474)

🔥 KEY DEADLINES 🔥
Because time is short, if you have any general business, motions, concerns, or nominations for committee roles (President, Secretary, Treasurer, or general committee), please send them through to [email protected] by Tuesday, 29th September.

We really appreciate everyone’s support and patience as we get sorted for the year ahead. Hope to see you there for a quick meeting and a catch-up over a drink or meal!
