Hare Rehab and Release Australia I have rescued, raised and released Leverets (Baby Hares) for years. Please read my pinned post. Based on the Sunshine Coast QLD. Minimal handling is important.

Please do not touch a baby hare unless there are signs of danger (example, found on the road, cat or dog brought it home, swooping birds, or dead mother hare close by.) Quite often they are just doing what baby hares do and waiting for mum to come back and feed them. If you do find one in trouble it is best to put in a small cardboard box with a soft towel and keep it in a cool, quiet area and awa

y from any pets and children. it is also important to never put a hare on their back. They go into trance mode, which causes their body to start shutting down, so death from a predator doesn't hurt so much. DO NOT FEED! Please do not give the hare anything to eat or drink. I am happy to show you paperwork from The QLD Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) stating that hares are NOT a restricted invasive animal.

*Please note* Hares are not for sale and do not make pets, they are a wild flighty animal. To try and keep one as a pet would likely result in a broken neck or spine in their first year of life.
