Are you the person everyone leans on to deal with hospitals and appointments?

If friends and family rely on you to make sense of referrals and the right service to call, you already have the heart for this work. Now you can build the qualification to match.

The Diploma of Applied Health and Community Support from the University of Tasmania prepares you for meaningful work in social work, community health, disability, mental health, and aged care. It's also a genuine pathway forward, with graduates able to move into the Bachelor of Social Work with Honours with a full 100 credit points of credit.

No ATAR needed. Study online, part-time or full-time. Start with the experience you already carry.

Already qualified in early childhood? You could become a university-qualified teacher, mostly from home.

Charles Sturt University has reopened its Connected Early Childhood Pathway scholarship for a second intake, and recent changes to the eligibility criteria mean more people may now qualify. If you hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, this NSW Government funded scholarship helps you step up to the Bachelor of Education (Birth to Five Years).

πŸŽ“ Your diploma earns you credit for 16 subjects, so you have just two years left.
πŸ’» You study online while you work, with placements often done locally.
πŸ’° The scholarship is worth up to $6,000, with extra support for First Nations, rural, regional and remote students.

Not sure if you qualify, or whether you are eligible for the extra loading? That is exactly what we are here for. Drop into the Hub, give us a call, or send us a message, and we will help you check and get your application sorted.

Applications close 10 July 2026. Find out more:

Thinking about a career in nursing? You can now study it from right here in Kurri Kurri. 🩺

UNE's Bachelor of Nursing can be studied entirely online, which means you can train for one of the most in-demand careers in the country without leaving the Hunter. Study around work, family and life, with the same accredited qualification that leads to registration as a nurse.

And there is more good news. The University of New England, AU has a Getting Started bursary worth $1,000 for new nursing students, designed to take some of the pressure off as you begin.

Whether you are finishing school, returning to study, or thinking about a fresh start, our team at the Hub is here to help you work out your options and get your application sorted.

Drop in, give us a call, or send us a message. We would love to talk it through with you.

Heads up to all our Study Hub students caught up in the Canvas outage:

You'll likely have seen by now that Canvas is down globally following a cybersecurity incident affecting Instructure. This is impacting universities worldwide, including many of yours.

A few important reminders:
1. If you have assessments due while Canvas is unavailable, your university is the first point of contact for extensions, rescheduled deadlines, or alternative submission arrangements. Each institution is handling this differently, so keep a close eye on your student email and any official channels your uni uses for updates.

2. Don't assume an extension has been granted automatically. Even in a global outage, most universities will still want you to formally request one through their usual process.

If you're unsure how to word an extension request, or you'd like a hand thinking through what to say, come and see one of our Academic and Student Support Officers on Monday at the Hub. We're happy to sit down with you and work through it together.
