Colloborating with Melina Mercouri since the 1970's, our committee conitinues to support the Greek government, and Hellenic supporters all around the world...please pass on our posts and make your voices heard- loud and clear!

Melina Mercouri loved Greece so much that she embodied the Hellenic spirit, becoming its ambassador throughout the world. In the hearts of every Greek, she was the first female politician to fight for the fundamental right of the Greek people: the return of the Parthenon sculptures to the Acropolis in Athens.

Yannis Andritsopoulos reports that, “The British government's willingness to "work" to resolve the "problem" of the Parthenon Sculptures was expressed, speaking exclusively to "NEA", by the new British Minister of State for Culture Ian Murray.

Asked whether he was optimistic that a mutually beneficial solution could be found regarding the future of the masterpieces of classical antiquity that Lord Elgin took away almost 220 years ago, the Minister of State for Culture in Keir Starmer's government clarified: "I am looking for solutions to all the problems that arise."

He then assured that "we will continue to work to resolve all the problems that we face, which are many. Of course, these include the Parthenon Sculptures."
