Someone recently shared this on the Newlyn Community Page and we thought it was too good not to share here as well!

This 1963 souvenir program for the Cobb & Co. coach visit to Kingston Showgrounds is a great reminder of the many events and moments that have brought our community together here over the years.

Bringing people together has always been at the heart of the Kingston Agricultural Society and the Showgrounds, and it’s lovely to see these memories resurface.

A little piece of District History

Sunday 15th September 1963

Being the weekend, thought I’d share this little piece of memorabilia, being a souvenir program from 1963 which I’ve found, while sorting through an old shoebox.

Being 8 years old at the time (close to 63 years ago) vaguely recall about the helicopter. It would have been a big deal to see back then.
Maybe it will bring to mind, memories for others!

Cheers 🥂

Great to see the Kingston Showgrounds hosting the the The Kingston Swapmeet on Saturday 21st February, with our local Kingston Fire Brigade CFA fundraising for their new community tanker.

If you’re heading along, please support our incredible volunteers as they park cars and rattle the tins to help reach their $50k goal.

Don't forget that the The Kingston Swapmeet is coming up next Saturday 21st February at the Kingston Showgrounds! Gates open at 7.30am - Over 300 stalls - Its getting bigger every year!

Once again, the Kingston Fire Brigade will be parking the cars and rattling the cans for donations towards our new Brigade-Owned and Community-Based Tanker 2.

We loved seeing the incredible creativity of our local school children at this year’s Kingston Show.

St Mary’s Clarkes Hill was presented with the award for Most Successful Local Art School, receiving a $100 prize for achieving the highest aggregate points across all classes which is a fantastic effort by students and teachers alike.

A big thank you to Meg Barry, proud sponsor of the Children’s Arts & Crafts at the 2025 Kingston Show and for her continued support of young creatives in our community.

Photos from the 2025 Kingston Show

We’ve had some messages asking about the photographers over the weekend.

A number of our photographers were volunteers, generously giving their time to capture the Show. This means it may take a little while for them to sort and upload their images.

We’ll share links and details as soon as all photographers are ready to release their photos, so keep an eye on our page over the coming days.
