I understand last week was a bit like this - wet and cold.

This week we hope hope for sunshine and hope.

And I hope we get a couple of new volunteer. A token person (who is not at all token), a photographer, and a volunteer recruiter so the next few weeks run smoothly.

parkrun people are a hardy bunch - an early morning earthquake and Melbourne’s inclement weather didn’t stop 76 coming to complete our course!

In the end we got a lucky break for an hour which allowed the following milestones to be earned in the dry… Jonathon Lipp did his first ever run, Morne Honiball reached a massive 250; and a very special mention to both Natalie and Michael (among the amazing vollie group below) who have now helped out 200 times 🎉🥳

Ok, this is maybe a little too close, but photos taken by someone walking the course do allow for some great shots as people go past. So, if you'd like to get a participant and volunteer credit this Saturday why not fill our Photographer spot?! 📷🎥📸

Thankyou to everyone who joined us at VRR on this rainy AFL grand final Saturday.

We had 104 finishers, supported by a team of 14 volunteers.

Visitors from both Fremantle and Brisbane, thanks for visiting us while in town to support your AFL team.

Congratulations to those who achieved milestones.

Rosalind Lea and Eleanor Whyte: 25 runs/walks.

Also congrats to Angela Nicholls on completing her 200th parkrun, thanks for for also volunteering with us.

A big 'Thank You' to the amazing volunteers that have already offered to help with Saturday's event, we really appreciate it!

We're still looking to fill a couple of roles to ensure our event can go ahead safely. We need a marshal to be our eyes and ears on the course.
