🚨 Community Preparedness Opportunity 🚨

Our friends at Murwillumbah CORE Inc. are hosting a Flood Recovery Simulation and community preparedness event on Saturday 4 July.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about community resilience, disaster recovery and how local communities come together during emergencies.

🚨 Murwillumbah Flood Drill — Get Involved! 🚨
We’re inviting our community to be part of something really important.

On Saturday 4 July, M|CORE will be running a flood recovery simulation at Jessie McMillan Hall — and you can take part!

🕘 10am – 3pm (drop in anytime)
📍 Jessie McMillan Hall, 16 Wollumbin St

You can:
✔️ Act as a resident needing help after a flood
✔️ Join as a spontaneous “mud army” volunteer
✔️ See how a real community recovery hub operates

💚 THANK YOU, CUDGEN 💚

Our hearts are full.

Last week, the incredible students, families, teachers and volunteers of Cudgen Public School and the Cudgen P&C Association came together to support the Chinderah & Surrounds People's Hub People's Pantry Drive — and the response was simply amazing.

Thanks to the generosity of the Cudgen community, we received an incredible collection of food, toiletries, baby items, cleaning products, household essentials and personal care items that will directly support local individuals and families experiencing hardship across our community.

These donations form part of our People's Pantry and Welfare Support Program, helping provide practical assistance to people facing financial stress, unexpected crises, housing insecurity, family challenges, illness, domestic violence, disaster recovery, and other difficult circumstances.

📦 Every box tells a story of kindness.
💚 Every donation represents someone choosing to help a neighbour.
🌿 Every item will make a real difference in someone's life.

What touched us most was seeing the enthusiasm and compassion shown by the students. These young people are learning that community is about caring for one another, lending a hand when it's needed, and recognising that even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

A huge thank you to the Cudgen Public School P&C, the school staff, parents, carers and students for embracing this initiative and helping stock our pantry shelves.

Because of your generosity, local people will have access to food, essential household items, personal care products and practical support when they need it most.

Together, we are building a stronger, more connected and resilient community.

Did you know free frozen meals are available each Thursday from the Chinderah & Surrounds People's Hub?

This wonderful community initiative is made possible through the kindness and dedication of local volunteers from Kingscliff Anglican Church who generously give their time to support others in our community.

Whether you're doing it tough, recovering from illness, caring for a loved one, or simply need a helping hand, these nutritious frozen meals are available with no judgement and plenty of community spirit.
