More than 16 handmade beanies, each with a handwritten personal note of encouragement tucked inside 💙
Our beautiful Mel is making through her generosity - knitting and donating these beautiful beanies to Cancer Council Tasmania. 🎗
Each one is a little bundle of warmth, comfort and kindness, created to support people affected by cancer.

Due to the growth of OCSS we are hiring

We are looking for our next intake of Community Support Workers📣

The primary objective of this position is to provide direct support to participants which aims to promote the dignity of the participant, enables their choice and control and supports them to develop their full potential. Community Support Workers may be required to work with participants, one-on-one, in a group setting or in a Supported Independent Living environment.

You will be required to work with other Community Support Workers in supervised group settings or independently with limited supervision in a Supported Independent Living environment ensuring that the following are abided to;
· Participants receive appropriate levels of support essential to promote and maintain independence and participate in age-appropriate activities.
· All participants receive a high level of care and support as per their Support Plan.
· Personal care is provided to participants in a caring and supportive way.
· Documented evidence demonstrates that service procedures are followed.
· All OCSS Policies and Procedures are followed.

To be successful, you must be able to;
- Demonstrate morals, values and attitudes that aim to support the dignity and independence of our participants.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of choice and control when dealing with participants with respect to their decision making and consent.
- Demonstrate ability to perform the physical requirements of the role.
- Demonstrate a willingness to undertake personal care services with our participants.
- Demonstrate a willingness to undertake all induction training.
- Demonstrate ability to use technology such as smart phones and computers.
- be flexible to do day and night shifts

Must have or be able to obtain;
- Current Driver's license
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card
- Pass a National Criminal History Check
- First Aid / CPR
- Assist Clients with Medications Certificate
- Recognise Healthy Bodies Systems Certificate
