New beginnings at Blueline.

Jason recently joined our production team through the Blueline Works program. Since starting with us in 2025, he has built his skills in our cleaning department and now works on the laundry floor, showing real commitment and a strong desire to contribute.

Outside of work, Jason is an active member of his community, a Special Olympics gold medallist who also gives swimming lessons to children. Jason says he “loves the 1‑to‑1 support I get at Blueline and I’m very excited to do the floor work.” We’re excited to have him on the team and to support him as he continues to grow.

Mother’s Day means something different to everyone, and that’s okay.

Today we just want to say a simple thank you to the mums and mother‑figures on our Blueline team. You juggle work, family, appointments, school runs, sleepless nights and everything in between and still show up and give your best.

To the mums in our team: We hope you get a quiet moment to breathe, rest or do something small for yourself.💙

Small changes can make a big difference.

We’re phasing out plastic trolley covers and moving to reusable, waterproof, long‑lasting covers across our sites.
As part of our ISO 14001 environmental management system, this is one way we’re cutting down on single‑use plastic in our operations and keeping things safer and tidier for our teams.

Reusable, weatherproof, reliable, and, if you ask us, pretty good‑looking, trolley covers coming to a site near you.

Earlier this week, ANZAC Day preparations looked a little different in our workplace.
In the lunchroom, some of our team tried their hand at baking ANZAC biscuits, using a recipe inspired by the originals baked on the home front more than a century ago.

It was a small way to pause and reflect on the traditions and stories behind this simple biscuit. Lest we forget.

Today, Blueline turns 133 years old.

From our early days as a small local laundry to the organisation, we are now, one thing has stayed constant: the people who bring Blueline to life, on the floor, on the road and behind the scenes.

To all our staff, past and present: thank you for your care, effort and the pride you take in your work. You are the reason we’ve reached 133 years, and the reason our future looks strong.

It’s been a busy lead‑up to Easter in our laundries, which is a good sign that Tasmanians and visitors will be out enjoying the last long weekend of the season.
Behind the scenes, you’ve been working steadily to make sure our accommodation customers have the clean, fresh linen they need to welcome guests well, so people can simply arrive, relax and enjoy their break.
We’re really grateful for the effort, care and teamwork you bring to this work every day. From all of us at Blueline, we wish you and your families grace, hope and love this Easter.

Celebrating the people behind the work.
This time, our Washroom Soil Sort team was named our Very Important Team, recognised for the way they lift each other up, go the extra mile and consistently deliver outstanding work. Their everyday efforts quietly shape our culture and make meaningful work possible at Blueline.
To mark the occasion, we held our first Blueline ViT (Very Important Team) Lunch, a chance to pause, share a meal and say thank you to the people who bring such warmth and care to our laundries. We were also grateful to be joined by guests from the Royal Hobart Hospital and appreciate them taking the time to celebrate with us and the people behind the work.
Moments like this remind us that it’s our people, the way they look out for one another and take pride in what they do, that sit at the heart of Blueline.
Anyone concerned, the champagne was non-alcoholic 😊🤣

Earlier this year, Pria Cairns completed the 5 km Run the Bridge event and really pushed herself to do it as a way of proving to herself that she’s capable of more than she thought.
As Pria put it, “you don’t really know what you can do until you try,” and that really came through when she talked about the day. With her support worker’s encouragement, she kept going and finished the walk.
We’re so proud of Pria for backing herself, taking that first step and seeing it through.

Our bodies won’t last long without water and, a commercial laundry is not that different. It’s why at Blueline we’re always looking to use as little water, and recycle as much, as we can.

World Water Day earlier this week was a good reminder of the work happening behind the scenes: investing in more efficient machinery, using smart washing systems to reduce our water use where we can, and keeping linen clean and safe for our customers.

Every small change helps, one tap turned off, one smarter wash, one drop saved at a time. On World Water Day and every day, we’re proud to play our small part in caring for this shared resource.
