This Sunday our teams will flying the green and gold flag far and wide across the northern suburbs, with games stretching from Epping to Kilmore and everywhere in between! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

The forecast is suggesting there might be a little rain about, so don't forget:
- Umbrellas
- Jackets
- Emergency coffee supplies

Because we all know there's always one parent who says, "Nah, I won't need an umbrella" five minutes before the heavens open ๐Ÿ˜‚

Wherever you're heading this weekend we wish all our players, coaches, volunteers and families the very best of luck. Play hard, support your teammates and have fun!

Safe travels to everyone hitting the road and thank you for continuing to support local junior footy week in, week out ๐Ÿ™Œ

Go Lakers! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

A quick reminder that tonight's training format is different to normal as we welcome Malcolm Bangs (Tackling & Takedowns Coach) to the club!

U16s โ€“ WE NEED A FEW EXTRA PAIRS OF BOOTS!

Our U16s have been hit with a run of injuries recently, and weโ€™re now looking for a few extra players to jump in and help us out for the upcoming games ๐Ÿ™Œ

If youโ€™ve been thinking about giving footy a go or youโ€™ve played before and miss being part of a team this is a great chance to get involved ๐Ÿ’ช

Thanks to our generous club sponsors, all registration and uniform costs will be fully covered. We just ask for players who are keen to get out on the ground, support the team, and have a crack while being part of a great group of kids ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

Itโ€™s a fantastic opportunity to:
- Get involved in local footy
- Be part of a supportive team environment
- Help out your mates on game day
- And most importantlyโ€ฆ have some fun

No pressure, just footy, teamwork, and community spirit.

If you or someone you know is interested, please reach out - weโ€™d love to hear from you!

Go Lakers! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

Itโ€™s not just our players who kick goals at Kinglake Junior Football Club! ๐Ÿ“š

Today weโ€™re excited to celebrate one of our amazing parents and volunteers on the release of her debut novel - C. H. King Author

๐Ÿ”Ž Cold Blood is available now via www.chkingauthor.com and Amazon in both paperback and eBook formats.

A gripping crime and medical thriller, Cold Blood centres on a discovery with the power to change lives ..... and the consequences of making it public.

โ€œSome stories ask what is possible.
Cold Blood asks who decides.โ€

I canโ€™t wait to get stuck into mineโ€ฆ (and yes, this page is actually operated by a real human ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ“–)

Congratulations C. H. on this incredible achievement! ๐Ÿ‘

Round 7 U9โ€™s Wrap up

Our U9s played Kilmore yesterday and while it didnโ€™t go our way we definitely saw a big improvement from 1st quarter to 3rd and 4th. Our team managed to put a stop to a very strong and physically challenging team. It was a great morning for footy and the boys kept pushing through all 4 quarters.

Everyone did their best, our midfield was on point and we stopped them when it mattered. Letโ€™s get a win next week!!

Go Lakers! ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

Awards ๐Ÿ…

Charlie took the opposition medal
Hayden took our best on ground award
Toby took our encouragement/coach award.

Round 7 U12s wrap up

We played South Morang at twilight last night on their home ground. It was hard fought early till will broke away and ended up with the win.

It was very pleasing to see the kids come back out of their shells and play with some freedom and confidence, and have some fun. The coaches have made a concious effort lately to boost confidence and to embrace and learn from our mistakes.

It was a real team effort tonight, there were many examples of unselfish acts, which aligns our team values. While we cannot name all the kids, there are many special mentions tonight:
1. Matilda for her three-goal final quarter,
2. Lach for five goals, four points, and a few assists,
3. Van for his game-awareness and unselfishness,
4. Benny for being a contested beast and unselfishness,
5. Liam for really impacting the second half, and
6. Jacob for holding down the backline

Awards ๐Ÿ…

Best on ground was Jake, who was a defensive beast and brought the intensity.

Nathan S and Beau F got the encouragement awards tonight for picking up the ball and their efforts.

Thanks to our parents.

We're looking forward to the challenge of taking on Greensy next week.

Lastly, a massive shout out to South Morang Football & Netball Club for their sportsmanship and hospitality with the pies and sasuage rolls after the game.

Round 7 U14s wrap up

U14s defeat Epping by 6 points

Another brilliant display of tough, team football from our U14s today, coming away victorious over Epping by 6 points.

Every player contributed to the result. It was a close game the whole way through โ€” the Lakers up by just a point at both quarter and half time, before extending the lead to 5 points at the final change. Epping are a strong side and pushed hard in the last quarter, but our boys held the ball in our half for most of the final five minutes to seal the win and slightly extend the margin.

Since being promoted, the U14s are looking right at home in Div 2 โ€” winning 2 of their last 3, and 5 of 7 for the season.

Coaches Award: Hayden
Best on Ground: Harry

Great effort again this week, fellas. Brilliant work by all.

Go Lakers! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

U16s Round 7 Wrap Up

Today we came up against Laurimar, one of the top Division 2 sides, and despite the result there were plenty of positives to take away from the game!

The boys showed great determination early and produced some excellent passages of play throughout the first half, taking the contest right up to a very strong opposition side.

Unfortunately, a number of injuries during the second quarter left us with no choice but to forfeit the match. While it was a disappointing way for the game to end, the effort, commitment and teamwork shown by the group should not go unnoticed.

What stood out most was the way the boys got around each other and supported their teammates through some tough circumstances. Despite a growing injury list, the morale within the group remains strong and the spirit of this team continues to shine ๐Ÿ’ช

There was no Best on Ground or Encouragement Award this week, but a very special mention goes to Tysen Zanatta, who celebrated his 50th game for the Lakers!!

As always, Tysen gave 100% from the first siren to the last and continues to lead by example every time he pulls on the jumper.
Congratulations on reaching the 50-game milestone, Tysen - a fantastic achievement! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›
