At Scouts WA, our programs are made possible through the support of volunteers, fundraising, and community involvement. As a registered not-for-profit and charitable organisation, all funds raised through membership fees, fundraising activities, and sponsorships are reinvested directly back into Scouting. These funds help maintain equipment, operate youth programs, support training for adult volunteers, and ensure we can continue delivering quality experiences for our young people.
To help keep costs manageable for all families, the Albany Scout Group asks each family to assist with a minimum of one fundraising event per school term. Fundraising support is essential in helping reduce the overall financial burden on the Group and allows us to continue providing engaging activities and maintaining equipment and facilities.
If a family is unable to assist with a fundraising activity during the term, a fundraising levy of $100 will be applied instead.
Membership fees within Scouts WA are generally divided into two components: Branch Fees and Local Group Fees.
Scouts WA Branch Fees help cover:
Insurance for all approved Scouting activities, including public liability and personal accident cover.
Membership and registration with Scouts WA, Scouts Australia, and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM.)
Administration, governance, and training programs for adult volunteer leaders.
Local Group Fees help cover:
Weekly meeting supplies and activity materials.
Hall expenses, including rent, electricity, and water.
Maintenance and replacement of equipment.
Youth badges and award materials.
We appreciate the ongoing support of our families and volunteers, which helps ensure Scouting remains accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable for our community.
This being said, we are ‼️URGENTLY‼️ needing parents/carers to sign-up to volunteer for the “Albany Classic ~ Around the Houses 2026.”
Albany Classic Sunday 31st May
‼️Term 2 group fundraising event - if unable to assist, please be aware that you will be invoiced the term fundraising levy of $100.
The Albany Scout Group has been offered an exciting opportunity to be part of the "Albany Classic – Around the Houses."
Our group will play an important role in supporting the event by staffing entry gates, including collecting entry fees, issuing entry ID stamps, and distributing event programs. This is a fantastic chance for our Scouts to be involved in a major local event while contributing to the community.
Even better, this will be a significant fundraiser for our group, helping us continue to deliver high-quality programs and create great opportunities for our youth members.
To make this a success, we need the support of our parent community. We are looking for volunteers across the event, and any time you can contribute—big or small—will make a real difference.
A sign-up sheet link is attached to this post, so please add your name if you’re able to help.
Thank you in advance for your support—we truly appreciate it!
Be advised the signup sheet slots may change once final details are confirmed.
