Pink Up Kilcoy

💞MORE than 120 people turned Kilcoy pink on Saturday, August 22, as the town officially launched its first Pink Up Kilcoy campaign to raise funds for cancer care.

The launch at the Kilcoy Courthouse Gallery marked the town’s entry into the McGrath Foundation’s Pink Up Your Town campaign, with locals, organisers and representatives from the Foundation gathering to kick off the volunteer-led fundraising effort.

The campaign will raise money for McGrath Cancer Care Nurses, who provide free care and support to people experiencing cancer.

Representatives Diana and Natalie travelled from Sydney on behalf of the McGrath Foundation to attend the launch and speak about the organisation’s work and the importance of community fundraising.

Diana told attendees the Foundation had expanded its mission and is now working towards providing its nursing support to people with all types of cancer.
“As I stand here today, we have 423 nurses,” she said.

“We are certainly on our way, but we know that we definitely have a big job, big job to do.”

In a nutshell, they are raising funds for the McGrath Foundation’s recruitment campaign to allocate Cancer Care Nurses to rural areas - just like our Kilcoy region.
