Thinking about electrifying your home? Start with a simple appliance stocktake. ⚡

Walk through your home and list the appliances that use gas or are likely to need replacing in the next few years (such as your hot-water system, cooktop or heater). Note their age and condition, then prioritise what may need attention first.

You don't have to change everything at once. Having a plan means you can research electric options before an appliance fails, avoid a rushed like-for-like replacement and make future upgrades work together.

Save this post as a reminder, and bring your questions to Switch On Kiama on Saturday 28 November.

Have you heard bout the NSW Governments Home Energy Saver Program?

If you’ve been thinking about solar, a home battery or other energy-saving upgrades, the NSW Government’s Home Energy Saver program may be worth a look.

Eligible households can access:

☀️ Zero-interest loans of up to $15,000 for energy-saving upgrades, including:
• Rooftop solar
• Home batteries
• Insulation
• Reverse-cycle air conditioning
• Switchboard upgrades
• Ceiling fans
• Draught-proofing

💰 Loans are available to households with a combined taxable income of up to $210,000, with repayments spread over up to 10 years.

There are also discounts of up to $4,000 for eligible lower-income households and concession card holders, with discounts becoming available later in 2026.

🏡 Importantly, renters may also be eligible for discounts, with their landlord’s permission.

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Meet the Owner EV Day at Finding Fillmore's on Sunday!

It was fantastic to see so many locals chatting with EV owners, asking great questions, and checking out the range of electric vehicles on display. We hope everyone left feeling a little more informed and confident about what it's really like to own an EV.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteer EV owners who generously gave up their time and shared their experiences, and to the team at Finding Fillmore's.

Thanks again for your support. We look forward to seeing you at our next Electrify Kiama event.

⚡ We've got a great range of electric vehicles on display right now out the back of Finding Fillmore's!

We're here until 2:00 pm, so come down, meet the owners, take a look through the vehicles, and ask any questions you have about real-world EV ownership.

Whether you're curious about charging, running costs, road trips, towing or battery life, our local EV owners are happy to share their firsthand experiences.

Get the answers to EV questions that a car salesperson won't tell you! 🚙

This weekend in Kiama at the Meet the Owner EV day, hosted by and supported by Electrify Illawarra

See the cars, meet the owners, and ask:

"What is the real-world range?"
"Can you turn those annoying beeps off?"
"How do the speakers sound?"
"Can you tow with it?"
"What charger did you get at home?"

See you there.
