The Kersbrook Shed

The Kersbrook Shed was founded in January 2015 as a local creative space for the community. Everyone's welcome!

The space is available for any interest group or hobby, so come along and build a project, learn new skills, teach others or just have a chat.

The Electronics@TheShed group have setup a new radio communications facility at The Kersbrook Shed, with the assistance of grant funding to promote STEM related hobbies.

We have successfully bounced our high frequency signals across the globe, making contact with enthusiasts in Belgium, UK, America, Guam, Japan and New Zealand! We have also received signals and relayed photos from a recent balloon launch in Mt Barker, which made it to 34 Km high! Check out the incredible photo of YP and KI.

This facility is available to everyone in the community, so if you're interested in having a look and seeing what we get up to, drop into the Kersbrook Shed Wednesday nights 7-9pm.

The first Kersbrook Shed sale has been a success! Lots of fresh local produce and bargains to be had. We're here until 3pm today, so still plenty of time to come over and have a look!

The weather is looking great for this Saturday's Shed Sale at The Kersbrook Shed. There will be close to a dozen stalls including an artisan bakery 🧁, a new Kersbrook wine label 🍷, jewellery , local honey 🍯, and much more. Something for everyone. Buyers from 9.30am.

We are still accepting last minute bookings, or even just try your luck on the day. Sellers $10 from 8.30am.

Reminder - The Kersbrook Shed Sale is on next Saturday 2nd August, 9.30am. With this coming weekend looking like a washout, it's the perfect time to gather up some stuff to bring along and sell.

The Kersbrook Shed is hosting a Car Boot Sale on the 2nd August, and you're invited to come along! There will be a large crowds (of potential buyers) attending 3 games of football at the adjacent oval throughout the day. Make some extra $ selling your old stuff, or snap up a bargain.

It's gotta be better than running your own garage sale right? Or dealing with Facebook Marketplace? Come and give it a go! See the poster for details.

Shed members Robin and Geoff have been busy building some affordable housing, one possum size and another rosella size. Tim and Rudi scored the field trip to install the nesting boxes on a property near One Tree Hill.

And we have more orders on the way! 6 nesting boxes and a 2 transport boxes for Orange Bellied Parrot conservation at the Adelaide Zoo! If you are interested in getting involved with more great conservation projects like this, please get in touch with The Kersbrook Shed, we need some help and we'd love to hear from you!

The Electronics@TheShed group recently finished an interesting repair job, a humidicrib used for raising dog pups!

The little pups enjoy a nice warm, humid environment, the ideal job for an old hospital humidicrib. A heater fault was repaired by replacing a thermocouple op-amp, plus an annoying buzzer was disconnected, giving the pups a bit more peace and quiet.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast at The Kersbrook Shed on Saturday morning, an audience of 40 people were captivated by a detailed presentation from Arthur Winn on all things guitar making.

The dedication and attention to detail needed to craft these instruments is incredible, with Arthur's words inspiring some to the challenge, whilst prompting others to declare they'll gladly leave it to the professionals.

The audience also enjoyed a cracking Robbie Williams rendition and a freestyle solo performance by 2 young guitarists.

Many thanks to Arthur, the team at The Kersbrook Shed for bringing together a great event for the community, and Kersbrook Football Club for the use of the clubrooms in the extreme heat.

Just a reminder, there is a guest speaker breakfast event at The Kersbrook Shed this Saturday morning (15th March). Come along and learn what it takes to handcraft an acoustic guitar from scratch and listen to some local talent play a few tunes.

It's going to be a hot one, so we'll have plenty of cool drinks available, fans setup and aim to finish by 10:30am.

The Kersbrook Shed had a facelift today with some new signs going up. Half a dozen rivets did the job after the levels were checked and checked again. We have to set the example after all!

So we're no longer that hard to find covert grey shed tucked behind the tennis courts. Drop in and have a look next time you're passing by.
