Snowfall in Kentucky Sat 2 Aug 2025
We had unexpected snowfall, (after several false alarm forcasts) with snow sitting on the ground by 10am and falling most of Saturday in Kentucky. It got thicker and thicker as the day went on, many tree branches couldn't bear the weight and sounds of creeaak... crash were frequent. Roads got slippery, crossings were already flooded from rain. Most lost power about 1pm. A big thanks to the energy crews in our area, restoring power, in the slushy mess afterwards. Thanks to those who got out there & removed debris to clear the roads. Households on stand-alone solar fared well, some had generators, the rest gathered several jumpers a watering can, camp stove and esky filled with snow, for the next 3 to 5 days. Our power came back on in sections. Cheers to our Posty who battled the branches and carried on.
☆☆ There is a free green waste drop off point opposite Uralla golf course for all those fallen branches.
