UNSW Finance and Banking Society UNSW FINSOC Our Mission: We assist, inform and inspire students interested in the opportunities the finance industry has to offer.

The Finance & Banking Society (FINSOC) is a student run constituent society for Finance students at UNSW with the main goal to link students to their peers and future employers. We familiarise students with the wide variety of firms and roles within various disciplines of finance, thereby facilitating both the flow of information from employers to students, and the networking opportunities that co

nnect students to employers. We run an innovative Q&A website, an online newsletter and events throughout the year ranging from case competitions, student workshops, informational evenings and networking events. With our combined strength, we promise students an unprecedented level of access to the everyday world of finance without exception.

A successful launch for the 2026 Women in Finance Mentoring Program!

We were incredibly grateful to welcome our mentors and mentees to officially begin this year’s program. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and valuable insights from across the finance industry.

A special thank you to our guest speaker, Michael Skinner, Founder and Managing Director of Blackwattle Investment Partners, for sharing his reflections on the growth of the program and his continued involvement in this flagship initiative.

We would also like to thank all our mentors for generously dedicating their time, support, and guidance to empower the next generation of women in finance.

We are excited to see the mentor-mentee relationships flourish over the course of the program and look forward to what the rest of the program has to offer!

The Women in Finance Mentoring Program is a 10-week program that connects female-identifying students with accomplished industry professionals through 1-on-1 mentorship, providing meaningful guidance and career insights in finance, banking, consulting, and related industries.

Throughout the program, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet the wider cohort through workshops and networking events.
