We’re so happy to be able to help out our local arts scene By providing a grant to replace the lights at the gallery 💡😁 💡. Well done to the committee of the Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery and all our wonderful local artists for continuing to provide such a fabulous space for our community to enjoy art 👏👏. ❗️MHERV IS BACK IN KEMPSEY❗️
📆 Tuesday & Wednesday 28-29 October 2025
⏰ 9.30am - 4.15pm
📍 Bunnings Warehouse, South Kempsey

“Saving local lives” is the objective of the Rotary Men’s Health Education Rural Van (mherv) which thanks to the Rotary Club of Kempsey is coming to our local area.

mherv is operated by the Rotary Club of Warners Bay in collaboration with local NSW Rotary clubs and other local community organisations.

The mherv Project has been operating for over 6 years travelling regional and rural NSW offering free health checkups to people who haven’t seen the inside of a doctor’s room since they don’t remember when! In that time, blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels may have reached seriously high levels and there are no symptoms… until it’s too late and a heart attack or stroke strikes!

The program is focussed on men because unlike the womenfolk, they are not good at caring for their own health!... But nobody is turned away.

The service is offered in a relaxed, confidential and informal setting. The mherv Registered Nurse conducts the tests and discusses any health concerns seated in the privacy of the van.

mherv screenings have saved many lives and improved health outcomes for many men and women throughout NSW.

You’re invited to take the opportunity to have a quick, free health check. Just ten minutes invested with mherv can save your life or the life of someone you love.

☎️And bring your old mobile phone with you.....

Our Rotary team this year are proudly supporting DV Safe Phone. This is a great chance for mherv to further support the community in a meaningful way. All that’s required is for people to drop their used phones into the box when mherv is in town. Rotary will collect them at the end of the tour and send them to DV Phone for refurbishment and distribution. Refurbished phones are then provided to Women’s Shelters and similar organisations.

Your old phone could save a life. DV Safe Phone are working toward a future where domestic violence victims are empowered to live safe, connected lives through sustainable technology solutions. Since 2020, DV Phone box have collected, repaired and distributed free mobile phones to domestic violence (DV) victims through their nationwide network of more than 500 agencies partners (DV agencies, police stations, hospitals and safe houses). With your support, they are transforming lives, promoting sustainability, and uniting communities for real change.

So great to have the support of Mayor Kinne Ring & Kempsey Shire Council and the unwavering support of our hard working Rotary Club members & volunteers!
We love how the community has embraced both our shops in Kempsey which has enabled us to give so much in these times of need 💙. How great is the Macleay Valley! 🤗🤗

The Kempsey Rotary Book Sale has raised over $122,000 that has gone directly back into our Kempsey Shire community! I dropped into their shop today to say hi.

The amazing team has run the shop with the kindness of landlords giving them free rent, they now have 2 locations. Mick Eller, who was my Kempsey High Principal, has been doing fantastic work leading the sale.

Helping farmers and businesses has been a priority over the past 6 months in tens of thousands of dollars. I am such a huge fan of what Rotary does, they make our community a better place. A huge thank you, and big recognition to your efforts.

What a great job our friends at Kempsey Children's Services do in laying such strong foundations for our young people. We were really happy to be able to help them install a new water filter recently!

What a wonderful evening it was last Monday as we celebrated the Changeover of our Club to its new Board & President Tania handed over the leadership of the Club to President Mick 😊. We were happy to have so many special guests with us, testament to the amazing year the Club has enjoyed and to hear a heartwarming presentation from our friend, Sally, from Rural Connect Ag around the impact of the Hay Runs we continue to support. And of course, a wonderful acknowledgment to Mick Eller as he was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow Sapphire pin in recognition of his many years in the community living the Rotary moto of ‘Service Above Self’.
Keep in touch with us as we launch into our 88th year of Community Service in the Macleay Valley!

We do love supporting our local health services! There's been so much positive feedback in the community since the Cancer Outreach Clinic was established at Kempsey Hospital, with many people now being able to avoid the trek to Port Macquarie and Coffs to get their treatments. Access to this specialist fridge helps this service to get some great outcomes, so we were excited to provide some funds to make this happen!
A big shout out to the amazing staff at the Kempsey District Hospital and our friends, the Lilli Pilli Ladies, for connecting us so we could support this great project!

Cancer patients at the MNCCI Outreach Clinic at Kempsey District Hospital are now benefiting from a new $8,352 pharmacy-grade fridge, generously donated by the Rotary Club of Kempsey. 🙌

This state-of-the-art Thermoline fridge ensures chemotherapy drugs are safely stored and readily available, providing vital treatments close to home.

This crucial addition enhances our ability to deliver essential care locally, and we’re deeply grateful for the Rotary Club of Kempsey’s support.

Since opening, the Outreach Clinic has transformed cancer care, reducing travel and making treatment more accessible for our community. 💖

👏 Thank you, Rotary Club of Kempsey, for making a difference!
