Tuesday the 9/6/26
Cubs had to work in 3s to build a shelter. With no help they worked hard and explained why a shelter was needed and all the things we could use to make a shelter. It was a fun night of cubs until next time happy scouting.

Volunteer Venturer Scout Leader Needed:

Are you passionate about helping youth between the age of 14 to 18 years boys and girls, developing confidence, leadership skills and a sense of adventure?

At 1st Kempsey Scout Group we are seeking enthusiastic and reliable volunteers, to join our scout leadership team.

As a Venturer Scout Leader you will deliver, plan and engage in activities, you will support youth in their personal development and contribute to a positive and inclusive environment.

What you'll do:

Lead and support weekly Scout meetings and activities
Help organise camps, outdoor adventures, and community projects
Mentor young people aged 14–18
Work as part of a friendly leadership team

What we're looking for:

Good communication and teamwork skills
Enthusiasm for working with young people
A commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment
No previous Scouting experience required—training is provided
Someone with a WWCC and Police Check

What you'll gain:

What a great night of snake bites and fire safety. We stopped, dropped and rolled our way out of an imaginary fire and crawled our way to safety, we found our emergency exits. Then we got bitten by some snakes lucky our friends knew what to do to help us stop the venom. And we learnt to call emergency services to come get our snake bitten cubs. Thank you to Luke for coming in and giving us a great talk about snakes until next week happy scouting.

Tueday may the 5th we invested 4 children into cubs then we made and cooked damper on the fire. The damper was amazing but I didn't get any photos cause we all ate it to fast

Today I have been informed of the passing of one of our former Leaders. RIP Louise Shakespeare, offering our condolences to Lou's family.

IMPORTANT ANZAC DAY INFORMATION

Venturers & Scouts Sections will attend Kempsey dawn service.
Meet 5am at the RSL Sub Branch for 5.30am Service at the Cenotaph. We can offer support to the Sub Branch for any jobs they require and usually join them for breakfast after.

All Sections will attend Kempsey main service and participate in the march.
Meet at 10.15am at Sydney Street carpark for 10.30am March and 11am Service at the Cenotaph.

Full uniform required. Uniform shirt, scarfs, tan coloured pants (Navy blue if none are owned), neat black shoea, wide brim hat and water bottle.

Saturday 25th April -
3rd part of Anzac badge, marching in the main st of kempsey. Must be in full uniform, including navy shorts, pants, navy socks, black shoes, scarf

Tuesday 28th April - DADNYLIONS BIRTHDAY!!
Learning how to read a compass, and the cardinal points, learning how to read a map and use a compass to find your way

Tuesday 5th May -
Damper on stick… cooked over a fire

Tuesday 12th May -
reef knot, clovehitch clothes line, square lashing, bowline, sheet bend. Knots Knots Knots

Tuesday 19th May-
snake bites, stop drop roll, fires, emergency’s

DRABCD, 1st aid, minor cuts

Campfire night fire safety, each cub is asked the bring a song to sing or a skit

Compass hike using a map

TACO TUESDAY our last day of term lets cook some Tacos on the fire
