AMA Queensland’s Council of Doctors in Training prides itself as an advocate for all junior doctors and students, promoting equality and driving change in the areas of medical education, training and employment. With the support of members, the CDT forms a powerful lobbying base representing all junior doctors, across diverse backgrounds and cohorts, to support career development and ensure reason
able working conditions. The CDT’s current lobbying initiatives include:
Provision of workplace facilities;
Ensuring appropriate rostering and safe work hours;
Fair access to vocational training and education for junior doctors;
Merit based recruitment and selection;
Beyond Blue and depression and su***de in the workplace; and,
Health policy areas including health reform, preventative health, climate change, drugs and alcohol and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. Joining the CDT is quite informal, if you wish to be a part of the committee simply let us know and your details can be added onto the members and mailing list. Once done you will receive notifications and information regarding of the CDT’s events, campaigns and meetings, including a firsthand look at the Junior Doctors Conference held later in the year. The CDT holds regular meetings held each month. These meetings will give you an opportunity to voice your opinions and concerns firsthand and will allow you to better understand the CDT’s current and upcoming events and campaigns. Minutes from the last meeting held will also be provided to all members which will give you a snap shot of where the CDT is currently situated.
