Kellerberrin Town Teams
Was contacted after the passing of Richard Marek who started the Battalion Soldier Park to see if they could assist with trying to get funds to finish off Richard’s dream
And get some funds via grants to do retic and finish off some garden. Beds and get signage etc

As Town teams Chairperson I have met a number of times with a group of individuals who where friends with Richard to see what needs to be achieved to finish off what he had a vision for.

I have been applying for a number of grants for Retic, some more seating , and to finish off some garden beds and to get mulch and gravel.

Recently we had the Dowerin Work Camp come to the Soldier Park and do some gravel spreading, mulch spreading and put together 2 large double seats to go under the gazebo.

I was able to get some funding from the Shire of Kellerberrin in the Community Grants of $3,000 towards the seating and we used some of the Chamber of Commerce funds towards the balance for the seats.

Thank you also to the Shire of Kellerberrin for the donation of the mulch and gravel

I would also like to thank the Kellerberrin Book Shop for the donation of $1,000 to Town Teams to use in the Soldier park. When we get enough funds this will go towards retic for the watering of the plants and trees.

If anyone is interested in assisting in helping with maintenance of the soldier and dog park or would like to make a donation so we can do some retic in the near future please contat me

Thanks.
Wendy McNeil.
Town Team Chairperson.

Some Dog Exercise Equipment and we also installed a Blue mental health chair in the Soldier Park opposite the railway line in Kellerberrin.

A Family donated some money to all the year 10 boarders who where then to donate it to something in there home towns. Evan wanted to do something for the Dog Park and Mental Health was something else he suggested.

After a meeting with our CDO Madalene Levy, Evan and his Mum, Kirsten and Wendy McNeil Town teams Chairperson Evans plan was put in to action by Wendy

Friday of last week Evan, his dad John and Wendy and Ian McNeil put the blue seat in and one piece of dog equipment. There is atill one piece to come plus some other items to the dog park we then put some
Mulch around the trees in the area as well

There has also recently been some dog litter bags attached to the bin near the Dog Park. Please use these

Thank you to Donor through Mazenod and a big Thank you to the men’s shed who have ended up making and donating the dog exercise equipment.

If you are walking through the area see if you can find the blue seat. It’s actually made from recycled products.

Your Town Team Chairperson.

Wendy.
