SAFE Karratha SAFE is a non-profit animal rescue organisation with 11 branches across WA. SAFE’s dedicated work has had a positive impact on people, pets and wildlife.

SAFE is WA's largest volunteer-based animal rescue service, SAFE has rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 40,000 animals since 2003. SAFE always welcomes new volunteers - help save a life by becoming a foster carer; assisting with the daily operations at SAFE; donating much needed funds; being involved with strengthening your local SAFE branch – every little bit helps. SAFE’s innovative foster

care program provides temporary care for animals until a permanent home is found. This means there are no cages or time lines on an animal’s life. Our Vision
An end to the over-population of pets in Australia, zero euthanasia of rehomable pets, and a good quality of life for all companion animals.

🎙️ A big thank you to Dom and the team for chatting with SAFE on the radio this week!

We shared a few special SAFE stories, including how an unexpected visit to a Karratha home gave one family something they’d been missing, the incredible work our foster carers do helping dogs with challenging behaviours, and our Pet of the Week!

We also got to share the wonderful news about the recent Rio team building event, where SAFE was the lucky beneficiary of some very generous donations.

🐶 Adoption Update – Rayne 💙

We’re so happy to share a beautiful update on Rayne as part of our post-adoption check-in program 💙✨

Rayne has settled into her new home wonderfully and is already bringing so much happiness to her family.

From her adopter:
“Rayne has settled in like a dream! She loves to snuggle and do zoomies in her new backyard. She’s spoilt with lots of toys, blankets, and a new puppy jacket for winter! She’s extremely loved by our whole family and brought so much happiness to our home 🥰”

It’s so lovely to hear how Rayne has embraced her new life. A huge thank you to Rayne’s family for opening their hearts to her, sharing this beautiful update, and giving permission for us to share their story and photos with our SAFE community.

Meet Blue 💙

Blue was the tiniest of her siblings and was found hiding in a shed. Now she’s safe and showing off her gorgeous, quirky personality!

She’s independent, loves being first in line for breakfast and absolutely LOVES playing with other cats. A friendly, playful cat companion could be a great match for her!

Blue is still building her confidence, so she’ll need a patient home where she can blossom at her own pace.
