We hope everyone is battened down and doing okay in the storms! Our rescues are ruggly and snuggly, and staying comfortable under the trees. Except for one, who is yelling at the sky à la Lieutenant Dan.
It's business as usual for the Sanctuary Elves, despite sideways rain and winds strong enough to rearrange facial features. New catchphrase for anyone who wants it: "I'm not a complete mess, I'm art!"

Loving you was beautiful, but losing you destroyed parts of me I dont think I will ever get back.
I didnt just lose a horse, i lost the one I ran to when life hurt.
The one who made everything feel okay without even trying.

Just the steady rhythm of hooves

against earth that knew your heart.

You were never “just a horse.”

You carried my fears.

You softened my sadness.

You stood with me when the world felt heavy.

And when my forehead rested against yours,

everything slowed.

It is with indescribable sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Frank. He developed a heart condition that we couldn't control, and while he fought so valiantly to be well, we made the heartbreaking decision to send him over the bridge today.
Frank was a champion to those in need, a lion-hearted protector, a wise and gentle soul who always put others first.
Frank - who shared his food and made sure everyone had their fill.
Frank - who threw himself through the fence to protect Luna from the farrier (she didn't need his assistance, but he didn't know that).
Frank - who stole our hearts every time he gave his without a second thought.
Frank - the softest, smoochiest, kindest horse.
Frank - who blissfully dreamed while we groomed and cuddled him.
The impact this incredible horse had on us, the Sanctuary (he made it happen), and other horses in need will never be forgotten, or rivalled.
The loss of such a gallant horse has left us reeling.
Please send Frank all your good thoughts, your most beautiful vibes, and hold your animals a little bit closer tonight.
