Any of you that own horses know exactly how expensive they can be, and the older they get the more it starts to cost.
Can we just mention a friendly reminder that we are a registered charity with dg status meaning every donation over $2 is tax deductible.
Our expenses happen throughout the year every day of the year.
If you plan on making a tax time donation to our horses, we accept them ANY time of the year and will even issue full receipt.

This bunch of rowdies moved into their gorgeous new paddock on the weekend. 2 Sanctuary horses and their buddies carved the place up, thundering across the grass, kicking and carrying on. They had a great time!
Mr T is in the field next to them, and we could tell exactly what he thought about having a frat house next door: "There goes the neighbourhood."

Summer. Now in her thirties, this sweet Arab X girl is still struggling with a traumatic past. She's perfectly happy with her friends, but often can't bring herself to get close to humans. She doesn't run away; she looks at you and then walks away with cat-like purpose until she is at a distance of about five feet, which seems to be her limit. She is deeply distrustful of people, and we respect that. Sometimes it seems she really wants to get closer, but she simply can't bring herself to cross that five foot gulf. We gently manage her whilst paying attention to her boundaries, and don't push her further than she's able to go.
When we finally get close, we do our best to keep our energy low (no cheering, even though we want to!) and she tolerates us for as long as she can before politely declining further interaction. Summer is our wild child, and we love her to bits.

Charlie, aka Aargh, Charlie!
This ginger ninja silently appears whenever anything interesting is happening, gently places his lips next to your ear and whispers, "Whatcha doing?"
Sewing a haynet? Aargh, Charlie! Adjusting some fencing? Suddenly ... Charlie! He's not at all pushy, just a little surprising.
He's a sweet, inquisitive boy who is always up for a chat and a cuddle and is just a delight to be around.
Charlie is available for adoption as a non-ridden companion to an approved home.
