The Mental Awareness Foundation (MAF) strongly advocates for the rights, acceptance and recognition of people dealing with mental illnesses and leads the crusade to break the taboo of talking about su***de and depression. The Walk For Awareness is celebrated by Brisbane as the opening of Qld Mental Health Week and is now the LARGEST mental health walk across Australia & New Zealand. It brings the

June is Men's Mental Health Month 🩵

Mental health affects everyone, yet many men still face stigma when it comes to speaking openly about their struggles. In fact, only 37% of men and boys reach out for support when they need it.

43% will experience anxiety or depression at some stage in their lives.
26% admit to delaying seeing their GP for help when they needed it.
Seven out of nine people who die by su***de everyday are men.

This month, we encourage conversations, check-ins, and reminders that asking for help is a sign of strength - not weakness.

Together, we can create a world where no man feels he has to face mental health challenges alone.

It was an honour to be at the movie premiere 🎥🍿 last night of ‘States of Mind’ - the documentary following Lachlan Stuart as he completed the phenomenal achievement of 58 marathons, in 58 days across the USA and Australia, whilst also raising over $160,000 for the Mental Awareness Foundation.

His courage, grit and determination throughout the documentary was simply incredible to watch.

We’ll be forever grateful to Lachy and his team for having us as part of their journey as the nominated charity.

Special mention also to filmmaker Ben Turner who was with Lachy during his marathons and captured the most amazing footage to showcase the journey.

Well done to everyone involved including the sponsors, support crew and everyone who donated 👏👏👏

From the bottom of our hearts🧡 we’d like to say thank you to everyone who attended, supported and donated as part of our 2026 Fundraising Luncheon last Friday.

It was another incredible event with so much love and generosity in the room as we raised $50,000+ towards mental health awareness and support programs to save lives.

Special thanks in particular those who contributed so selflessly towards the day:
• Luncheon Naming Rights Sponsor Gardel Electrical & Solar and Gold Sponsor Garrards
• Our fantastic MC Peter Fegan
• The always amazing Mike Tyler Magic for his entertainment
• Queensland Rugby League Icon and Legend ‘Alfie’ Langer
• The energetic powers of our auctioneer Alistair Macmillan
• All business partners and supporters who donated items
• Our team of volunteers Fiona, Mel, Laura and Lincoln
• Each and every person in the room who made the day a success

Nothing we do would be possible without the support of the Mental Awareness Foundation community.

We are truly blessed to have so many amazing people who contribute towards the important work of the Foundation and our mission to save lives.

Thank you 🙏
