So sad to hear of the passing of Gary Douglas.
Gary was one of a kind, a quiet, thoughtful guy, who loved his pet dog, old car, cooking, open fires and of course making amazing artwork with his sculptures and carvings using palm fronds. One of our first Art Trail exhibitors, he will be missed. Sending condolences to family and friends.

Fantastic day at the Kalgan Hall Australian Day and Community Shed celebrations today, with around 60 attendees. We had the unveiling of the old Kalgan Fire Truck, with four of the last volunteer firies who drove the old girl, including Chris Andrews (the doner), Don Tomlinson, John Powis and John Bosian. Brad Wooldridge, our Chairperson, who is also a volunteer firefighter, asked them all to sign a hard hat each as a token of our appreciation. They and others are itching to get started on the repair and refurbishment. Good food and conversation followed. Thanks go to the Kalgan Settlers Association for organising such a brilliant afternoon.
