🚒 We're looking for new members!

We're a small brigade protecting a small community, and we're looking for more locals who would like to get involved.

No previous experience is required and all necessary training is provided. Whether you're interested in learning new skills, helping protect Horrocks or simply becoming more involved in the community, we'd be happy to have a chat.

You don't have to know anything about firefighting to start — just be willing to learn and lend a hand.

🚨 Kalbarri VFRS 🚨

Last night our training involved a Breathing Apparatus refresher, which involved practicing donning and doffing sets, the purpose and use of apparatus sets, and the sequence of events used for our fireys to follow.

This time we used Kalbarri Gravel and Sand Supplies shed to fill up with smoke to imitate a low to no visibility search for casualties in a room with obstacles to navigate, this practices scoping out rooms or houses and returning that information to the ECO so we can learn what crews are finding in a minimal visibility area and where casualties may need to be rescued.

Thanks to our volunteers for attending and Greame Ralph for use of their shed for use of makeshift training ground

🚒 Open Station Afternoon & You’re Invited! 🚒

Have you ever wondered what goes on at your local fire station? Now’s your chance to find out!

The Kalbarri Volunteer Fire & Rescue Brigade is opening our station to the community for an Open Station Afternoon.

📅 Wednesday, 8 July
🕟 4:30pm – 6:00pm
📍 Kalbarri Fire Station, Magee Crescent
🎟️ Cost = Free
🌭 Free sausage sizzle

Bring the whole family along to meet our volunteers, explore our fire trucks and equipment, and learn more about the important work we do to help keep our community safe.

If you’ve ever considered becoming a volunteer, we’d love to chat with you! Whether you’re interested in operational firefighting or supporting the brigade in other ways, this is a great opportunity to ask questions and see what being part of our team is all about.

📣 Last night following on our AGM dinner, our captain presented membership awards to acknowledge our members for their ongoing support and volunteering. 📣

One of those was a Life Membership award to our brigade,

Terry Ash

One of the highest honours our brigade can bestow. Life membership is not awarded simply for years of service, it is reserved for those who have consistently given ther time, skills and heart to the brigade, without seeking recognition.
Terry has exemplified those qualities throughout his years of service, on behalf of everyone here past and present, our community, and those whose lives you've helped protect - thank you.

!!TIS THE SEASON FOR AGMS!!

VFRS Brigades must hold an AGM each year to cover brigade business and allow the membership to elect the officer bearers/brigade leadership for the new financial year.

We had a cracker of a year and even due to personal commitments and work, we all came together as a team which is the nature of volunteering and helping our community

The way the members have supported the community and the improvements the leadership group are working towards is something our brigade will be proud of for years to come.

A big thankyou to the outgoing members and congratulations/welcome to the new members to the leadership group.

We would like to thank our manager AO Midlands Mark Teale for coming along to our AGM to see all our positions get filled. We would also like the thank 2 of our Life Members for declaring all positions vacant and attending.

To Kalbarri & surrounds, us along side DBCA, the Northampton shire, DFES staff & volunteers are conducting mitigation burning around town and out in the parks. We advise to keep your homes closed if possible and prevent hanging washing out as smoke may cover areas over town. The mitigation team will do their best to select burns depending on the day to prevent covering the town.
