Come down and join the Kalamunda Toy Library! Our toy library is a voluntary organisation which have been run entirely by members since 1981.

We aim to provide fun and educational toys, puzzles and games for babies and children. The Kalamunda Toy Library is located at 33 Canning Road in Kalamunda. Phone 6293 1857
Our opening hours are:
*Saturdays between 9.15 and 11.15am
*2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month between 9.30 and 10.30am. Membership fees are as follows:
Helper (min 5 rosters per year) = $80
Coordinator (min 5 rosters per year) = $40
Casual - 1 month (no roster or tasks) = $30

Kalamunda Toy Library is proud to announce that we were finalists in TWO categories at the 2026 Australian Toy Library Awards:

• Excellence in Collaboration and Connection
• Excellence in Accessibility, Inclusion and Belonging

The team at Kalamunda Toy Library has been working tirelessly to increase accessibility, inclusion and belonging at our toy library. A project that will be on-going, as we wish to bring play opportunities to as many people as possible.

The achievements and stories shared at the awards ceremony on Sunday were truly inspiring. There are fantastic things happening in toy libraries across the country and it is clear that we provide so much more than “just a toy borrowing service”. Kalamunda Toy Library is honoured to be recognised alongside such incredible toy libraries.

We would like to thank our committee, volunteers and toy library members, as well as the amazing teams at Western Kids Health and Toy Libraries Australia who have supported our DAIS project and helped us make meaningful change this year. Your contributions have helped strengthen our community and will help Kalamunda Toy Library continue to thrive.

Our Toy Accessibility training with Western Kids Health was a huge success!

Last Friday a bunch of passionate and curious individuals learnt about different aspects of toy accessibility and how Kalamunda Toy Library is upgrading their toy labels and cataloguing for easy identification.

During the training session participants assessed toys against accessibility criteria, identified potential accessibility upgrades and contributed valuable feedback on how our new system could be implemented.

Once our full toy accessibility audit is complete, families will be able to find toys that meet their needs by looking for symbols on the toy labels. Our online catalogue will also allow for families to filter toys based on accessibility needs.

As you can imagine assessing over 1000 toys will take time and a lot of volunteer power! We would like to thank everyone who has volunteered to help us with this mammoth task. You will see plenty more updated toy labels over the coming months.

Exciting Learning Opportunity – Toys for Everyone!

Western Kids Health is coming to Kalamunda Toy Library (again!). This time they are sharing their valuable knowledge to help us give play opportunities to more people.

We’re looking for participants who want to:
• make play accessible to everyone
• learn what makes a toy more accessible
• learn how to select appropriate toys for different needs
• help Kalamunda Toy Library assess more of their toys

Sorry, we are closed Saturday 2nd May for our AGM, as all our members and volunteers will be eating snacks, learning about the library and playing with Lego!

We will be back open as usual on Wednesday 6th 9.30-10.30am & Saturday 9.30-11.30am.

Lots of fun planned for the next two Saturdays!

Join us this Saturday 2nd May for our AGM followed by a Lego Workshop with Cultivating Curiosity. AGM starts at 9.30am at Kalamunda Community Learning Centre. Please note that the toy library will be closed this day, our members will be busy finding out the secret behind the scenes toy library info, eating delicious morning tea and playing with Lego!

Ever wanted to ask questions or chat with an occupational therapist or speech pathologist in a relaxed casual setting? Visit the Kalamunda Toy Library Saturday 9th May 10.30-11.30am for our Stay and Play with Western Kids Health! There will be plenty of toys set up for kids to play while you enjoy morning tea and a chat. All families are welcome, you do not have to be a toy library member to attend this FREE event.

The event will be a quick overview of the 2025 financial year. Find out what has been happening behind the scenes, celebrate our wonderful volunteers and find out who is on the committee for the remainder of 2026!

Followed by a free Lego-based creative sessions for adults (12+) with Amanda from Cultivating Curiosity and fun Duplo Challenges for younger members run by the Kalamunda Toy Library Team. Door prizes up for grabs (yes... Lego!)

Borrow toys 9.30-11.30 at our usual location (33 Canning Rd, Kalamunda).

Visit the Kids Corner at Kalamunda Annual Show where we will have a bunch of free play activities.
