⛔️⁉️ PERTH PEOPLE - WE NEED YOU ⁉️⛔️

We’ve talked to so many people who didnt realise that Alcoa wants to expand into the Perth Hills and the Mundaring Weir drinking water catchment.

So we’ve been making maps to help our community understand what is being proposed and where.

The proposed expansion is ORANGE on this map and incudes the Perth Hills jarrah forest outside the Shire of Mundaring, City of Kalamunda, City of Armadale, Shire of York and Shire of Beverley as well as existing operations in Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, Shire of Wandering and far beyond.

Several Local Government Authorities are holding special council meetings to discuss Alcoa’s proposals.

A very interesting article and debate!
Quite relevant considering City of Kalamunda is implementing one of the biggest rate rises in WA of 5%
When the WA average is 3.5%.
City councils really need to focus on their basic functions and manage costs at a level expected by most.

Cr Modolo offering a commonsense and pragmatic approach to CoK budgeting
Whilst we at KDRRA are independent advocate for ratepayers we certainly appreciate and respect the work and position of Cr Modolo in his push for review, change and transparency within CoK.
Very disappointing that the other Councillors supported the rates 5% increase.
We need more City councillors like Cr Modolo to stand up and challenge the status Quo and CoKs obvious view that ratepayers are just a way to top up their coffers and subsidise their financial failings.

CoK has put forward a proposed 5% rates increase this year which is around double the inflation rate which is retracting not growing, how can they keep justifying increases year after year without looking at their own costs and expenditures.

Please Say NO! Please offer feedback as per below and also Contact the CoK CEO and all of the councillors to let them know that we do not support any increases.

******Urgent Call to Action for all Ratepayers*********************************

City of Kalamunda is putting forward a 5% increases to Rates at its next meeting
We must object!!!!!

We Ratepayers cannot sustain anymore Rates increases Especially a whopping 5%!!!!
The City needs to review cost control and stop looking at Ratepayers as their cash cow, the economy is slowing down,
The interest and earnings from the CoK investment accounts over the last few years of super high interest rates should've produced enough revenue to avoid gouging Ratepayers further.

All Ratepayers need to let the CoK executive and our City councilors know we object to yet another Rate increase!
Please email the City and the councillors ASAP with your objections, we must let them know before their meeting if we have any chance to avoid any increase, councillors contact details in link below.
