A big thank you to Jo from The Herb Lady Tolga for her generous donation of seedlings for our community garden, and for sharing her time, knowledge and expertise to help us create the best garden possible for the upcoming season.

We’d also like to thank Grit Pit (Nature’s Earth from Upper Barron) for kindly providing soil to top up our garden beds.

Our Year 5 and 6 students had a fantastic day at the Disaster Centre in Atherton, taking part in the Safety Squad disaster preparedness program run by the Tablelands Regional Council

Students learned how to prepare for, respond to and recover from natural hazards such as cyclones, floods, storms and bushfires, with valuable lessons from our local emergency services. 🌪️🌧️🔥

T20 cricket 2026! The Kairi Crusaders won the mixed comp! 🎊🎊🏆🏆🌟🌟😄😄 It was a fantastic way to finish off the term. The students represented our school with pride and many of them were trying cricket for the very first time.

This week, we hosted Mr Michael Barlow, who helped run a range of cultural activities as part of our NAIDOC Week recognition. Mr Barlow was here to support two of our indigenous students, Sheena and Trishana, who organised a range of activities including art and painting, indigenous dancing, cooking, weaving and spear throwing.

It was wonderful to see our students engage in these activities and have the opportunity to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through some hands-on experiences. A big thank you to Michael, Sheena and Trishana for sharing their knowledge and culture with our students.

Today, our Year 5 and 6 students visited Atherton State High School to work with the Industrial Technology and Design teachers on building our aquaponics system.

It was also a great transition opportunity with students exploring the Agricultural Department and trying out virtual reality goggles in the library. A big thank you to High School for a providing these great experiences for our students.
