What a night!! The Kairi State School Bush Dance 2026 was fantastic!
A huge thank you to our P&C for organising and running this event and to everyone who contributed to making it such a success. The food was delicious, the band Whiskey Boat was so impressive and we were stunned by the sheer number of cakes donated for the raffle! Thank you!

Events like these create lifelong memories. ❤️

Kairi State School P&C Bush Dance is on tonight!

Please see the attached program outlining the events and activities planned for the evening.

Families are encouraged to arrive between 5:15pm /5:30pm to enjoy some dinner and settle in before the class dances commence. Arriving on time will help ensure the evening program runs smoothly.

Raffle tickets for our Student Council Cake Stall will be available for purchase throughout the evening, and we will also have a Bush Dance Photo Booth area where families and friends can snap some fun photos and enjoy the country-themed atmosphere.

We are looking forward to a fantastic evening of dancing, fun and community spirit, and hope to see you all there!

Year 4/5 had an exciting day bringing their HASS unit to life as they stepped back in time to the Gold Rush era! Students got to experience a bit of life as claim jumpers, bushrangers, and thieves. They also enjoyed digging for gold nuggets, sawing logs with a cross-cut saw, making damper, sewing the Southern Cross flag and reading messages on the message tree – the community noticeboard of the time.

It was wonderful to see students having a much fun with history and experiencing firsthand what life may have been like during the Gold Rush. Great work Mrs Jennings and Year 4/5!

We are trying something different this year!

As part of the upcoming Kairi State School P&C Bush Dance on Friday 19th June, we will be holding a Cake Stall Raffle to raise funds for the Kairi Student Council.

To make this fundraiser a success, we are asking families to kindly donate baked goods for the raffle. Cakes, cupcakes, slices, biscuits and other homemade treats are all welcome and will form part of the raffle display on the night.

Donations can be brought to the Bush Dance prior to the event commencing at 5:30pm.

To help everything run smoothly, please keep the following in mind:
• Please name your delicious goods and provide a list of ingredients to be displayed with your item or attached to your container.
• Where possible, please provide your item in a box or tray that does not need to be returned. (Big W has a range of inexpensive cake boxes available.)

Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the evening, with the random raffle draw taking place at the end of the night, so be sure to stay until the end for your chance to win one of the delicious donated treats.

Thank you for your support and generosity. Every donation helps us raise valuable funds for the Kairi Student Council.
