Under the pandorea pandoreana canopy a new planting of atriplex nummularia is starting to fill out. The view to the other garden areas has been improved by removing shade cloth previously enclosing this sheltered area.
The display of saltbush has created a contrast in colour and form and a backdrop to the coastal garden immediately adjacent.

A new garden area is being developed on our Kadina site. Several crescent shaped beds are being planted with a mixture of plants suitable for YP gardens and a further bed is devoted to bush food plants. Lib has been planting and tending the new garden beds while Les has been busy weeding the paths. This area has challenges due to morning shade cast by nearby Aleppo pines. Interesting to see how it goes! Well done team!

What a fantastic hedge. Alyogyne huegelii, the purple flowering form, shaped to make a bright and fragrant hedge, flourishing in the local marina.

Alyogyne huegelii is a flowering plant found in the Southwest botanical province of Western Australia, extending along its entire coastline. A large-flowered shrub, the species favours the sands of coastal shrublands and heath. The large flower, highly variable in colour, is similar to that of Hibiscus. Grows well in SA on YP as indicated in the photos.
