We’re so grateful to the Kadina Auxiliary of The Friends of the Women's & Children's Hospital for their incredible donation of hundreds of toiletry care packs.

Over the past 10 years they have donated 600 packs which contain a toothbrush, toothpaste, and other essential toiletries to help parents and carers staying at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital unexpectedly.

The WCH Friends Kadina Auxiliary on the Yorke Peninsula - including Care Pack Co-ordinator Lorraine (right) and newly appointed Kadina Auxiliary President Lauren (left) - collect the donated items from the community and local businesses. It is through this generosity that they are able to make and provide the care packs.

Over the last few years they have added tags to the packs explaining where the packs have come from and they have received lovely feedback.

Tonight we held the AGM for the Kadina Auxiliary of the Friends of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital at our regular meeting place, the Kadina Croquet Club.

A heartfelt thank you to the club for your ongoing support of our auxiliary and the work we do within our community 💙

We would also like to acknowledge and thank our ongoing position holders:

And a HUGE thank you to our outgoing President Bec, who has dedicated an incredible FIVE years to the president role. Your passion, commitment and countless volunteer hours have helped our auxiliary continue to grow and support such an important cause. We are so incredibly grateful for everything you have done 💐

We are also excited to officially welcome Lauren into the President role. Thank you for accepting the nomination — we can’t wait to support you as you lead our amazing auxiliary into another year of fundraising and community spirit ❤️

Last AGM calendar year alone, we proudly sent over $9,000 to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, including around $2,300 raised through our amazing biccie sales 🍪

Here’s to another year of passionate local volunteers making a real difference for families and children who need it most. 💙

Making a real difference for families—thanks to the Friends of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital

Through their Passion Projects funding, the Friends of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital are supporting innovative ideas that directly improve patient care and experiences for families across South Australia.

The impact of this funding also extends to practical, hands-on support—like Cleft & Craniofacial Therapy Kits, designed to reduce stress and support therapy during hospital visits.

Patrick is one of the many children already benefiting.

After receiving a Cleft & Craniofacial therapy kit, his mum Jess shared how grateful they were. Patrick was excited to use the items to support his speech therapy—building the oral airflow needed for his sounds—and proudly showed his sister how everything worked.

For more than 30 years, the Friends have played a vital role in enhancing care through fundraising and volunteer support—funding equipment, improving facilities, and backing initiatives like these Passion Projects that make a genuine difference.

Because of the Friends, more families are receiving the care, support, and compassion they deserve—when they need it most.
