A New Chapter for Geraghty Park Hall💫
After four wonderful years of managing Geraghty Park Hall on behalf of the Julatten community, the Centre for Australasian Theatre (CfAT) is stepping down from its management role.
CfAT is honoured to be part of building on the hall's rich history. Over the years we've loved supporting local initiatives and workshops, while also creating new work and bringing touring artists and creative opportunities to the hall.
Activities have included:
Youth and adult theatre workshops and performances
Large-scale touring productions
Short film projects
Visual arts workshops
Writers Group
Community events
Choir, music lessons and live performances
Yoga
Karate
Women's and Men’s circles.
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all our supporters from the local community and across the region for their goodwill and participation!
A special thank you to Corin from Martial Path
and Shivany Gonell for their ongoing commitment to providing regular karate and yoga classes.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication, hard work and care of Guillaume 'Willem' Brugman and the CfAT board and its members.
We would also like to thank Mareeba Shire Council for its support over the years!
One of the highlights of the past 3 years has been the monthly Julatten FairMarket—a place where locals came to trade produce, share stories and enjoy each other’s company. Thank you to all the stallholders, dancers and visitors who helped make it such a special part of our community! While CfAT will no longer continue the FairMarket, we encourage the locals to get behind the Bushy Creek Makers Fair 2026 in September!
Geraghty Park Hall is now under the management of the Edna Head Library.
