🌿 We are SO excited to share this one with you!

Meet our brand new soft release enclosure β€” a truly one-of-a-kind resource for Darwin Wildlife Sanctuary, and we couldn't be prouder.

This specially designed enclosure is for wildlife that are ready to take that next step toward home. Whether it's a flying fox preparing for release back into the wild, or an orphan possum that has been hand-raised and needs a gentle transition, this enclosure can be set up wherever the perfect release spot may be. It's a game changer for the animals in our care. πŸ’š

None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of everyone who donated through Good2Give β€” from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Every contribution made this a reality.

A huge thank you also to Promotor Trailers for upgrading our old trailer, and The Exhibitionist for the stunning new signage. You have all helped us give our wildlife the best possible chance at a wild and free life. 🌿

πŸŽ‰πŸ’―πŸŽ‰ Happy 100th Birthday to, lets face it, the grandfather of wildlife conservation and care! David Attenborough has been a personal inspiration of mine since birth but I am sure he also is for millions around the world. I hope he still has many more!!πŸŽ‰πŸ’―πŸŽ‰

πŸͺΆπŸ₯πŸ€ Returned home! About 2 mths ago we received a call from some concerned members of the public that had resident curlews who they have been watching raise babies for years.
This year one of the young was not moving and could not stand. The young curlew was rescued and taken to the Wild North Veterinary Hospital for xrays. It was found to have a broken toe so a splint and bandage was applied and it was given strict cage rest for 2 weeks. A further 4 weeks in care with one of our carers, and multiple bandage changes later, the little one is now released back to its parents who were still there! It was a wonderful reunionπŸ€πŸ₯πŸͺΆ

πŸŒΏπŸ¦…πŸŽ‰ This is exactly why we are so excited Wild North Veterinary Hospital exists and that DWS has the privilege of working so closely with them! No where else in the Top End would you find vets and vet nurses who can provide the specialised intensive care required for an outcome like this!! The team there puts countless volunteer hours into the care of our injured native wildlife and they need your support to keep doing this amazing job! If you want to sponsor or support the work they do message us now πŸŽ‰πŸ¦… 🌿
