10am today at the Bowlo!

For over 100 years the CWA has been providing love and support to families, women and children on the Monaro. If you’ve ever wondered how to give back come and say hi! We have so many ways, big and small, you can lend a hand to our community. We’re very friendly, and we often have cake! 🍰 😋

At our monthly meeting today we had the pleasure of giving out some of our regular local charity donations. Today we have given:

$1000 to Mission Australia - Cooma office, who bought a freezer with our donation last year which they use to help provide meals for local people experiencing crisis situations.

$1000 to the Monaro Committee For Cancer Research

$1000 to the CWA Monaro Education Fund which assists local kids in year 6 going in to year 7 with essential school supplies.

$1000 to the CWA Salme Koobakene Fund, which funds annual education and care grants for local kids in year 11 and 12.

We had some little guests at our craft and friendship group this morning! As well as a delicious orange cake courtesy of Land Cookery guru Lorraine 😋 Everyone is welcome - we meet weekly at 10am on Tuesdays at the Bowlo ☕️ 🍰 🧶

Feeling creative? Come along to the CWA Community Art Group on Thursdays held at the Memorial Hall in the Supper room. Gold coin donation to go towards holding a skills workshop. From 11.30am-2.30pm.🎨🖼

Yum yum yum! It's always an exciting day when our Land Cookery Open Judging Day comes around! We had plenty of success including first prize for our very youngest member Arwen who is just six years old!

If you'd like to get involved with the CWA we do loads more than just baking (although that's what people know us for!). We are out and about every week helping out in the community and there are a myriad of ways, big and small, you can help. Just hop into our DMs to chat with our friendly team!

Artistic or art curious? Want to meet some likeminded locals for a creative hour or two? CWA Jindabyne's art group is for you! We meet weekly on Thursdays at 11.30 at the Memorial Hall - our first group for 2026 is on February 5th. Bring your own art supplies or just come and check it out.
We also have a crafting group on Tuesdays at 10am at the Bowlo, if you have knitting, crochet, cross stitch or just a hankering for a coffee and good company we'd love to see you there too!
