Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra

Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra History:
In 1998 the Rotary Clubs of Queanbeyan and Queanbeyan West decided to sponsor a new Rotary Club based in Jerrabomberra.

Jerra Rotary meets on the first and third Thursday of the month from 6:20pm at
The Dugout, Regional Sports Complex, 210 Environa Dr, Jerrabomberra NSW
____
Join Jerra Rotary to make an impact, connect with others, and grow—while having fun along the way. Bill Lilley, John Snedden and Peter Jarvis from Queanbeyan West took on the joint roll of mentor (Peter Jarvis went on to become our Charter Pres

ident). Initial meetings were held at the Jerrabomberra General Store. The venue was very good until we grew in numbers. President Peter ran competitions to select a name for our Club bulletin and a design for the Club banner. There were some good and (very) bad suggestions. Pam Spencer suggested the winning bulletin name, Jerraganda. The banner design by David Stevens was eventually selected. The design incorporates a goose and the windmill associated with the original entrance to the estate.

At our last fortnightly meeting on Thursday 5 March 2026, our guest speaker was our local Australian Federal Police (AFP) Human Exploitation Community Officer. We learned how these roles in each State/Territory contribute to the AFP's national efforts to raise awareness and support around human trafficking and exploitation. As the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra works within our local community, we built our understanding of human exploitation crimes and the warning signs that might be present when people are at risk.
