It is with deep respect and sadness that we farewell an extraordinary man, Ken Marslew AM.

Ken’s impact on our community, and across Australia, was powerful. After the tragic loss of his son Michael, Ken turned unimaginable grief into purpose, founding Enough is Enough and dedicating more than 30 years to changing attitudes towards violence. His work touched countless lives and created real change.

Ken was captivating, stoic and grounded. Beyond his presence, those around him felt his warmth and care. He led with selflessness and love. His passion to make the world safer and fairer for others never wavered.

Ken will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue. Our thoughts are with his wife Lynette and the entire Marslew family. Ken’s compassion and resilience shaped the lives of thousands of Australians, including the Birdie team.

Rest in peace, Ken.

Anti-violence crusader Ken Marslew has died at 81.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken B. Marslew AM.
He left us peacefully, with his adoring wife Lynette by his side. Ken lived a life of purpose, determination, and deep resolve—dedicating himself to positive change and improving the lives of countless people. A true hero, his legacy of courage and compassion will continue to shine brightly. Rest in peace. Check funeral notices for details.

In December, we partnered with the amazing Young Leaders Network to organise a charity appeal for Enough is Enough. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the council staff, we collected food hampers and gift cards, which were distributed to community members needing a helping hand before Christmas.

We’re stepping up for change!

The Birdie team is joining the UN Women Australia Safe. Everywhere. Always. Challenge and over the next 16 days (25th November–10th December), we’re taking on individual challenges of either 30km, 60km, or 100km to raise awareness and take a stand against domestic violence.

Here’s why this matters:
