In this blog, we explain what is changing, why it matters, and what participants and families may want to think about if they currently use SIL supports.

Positive Behaviour Support focuses on understanding the “why” behind challenging behaviours, and on implementing individualised strategies to reduce or remove those behaviours. It helps build skills and improve a person’s quality of life.

These 4 simple steps can help you access the right support:
• Identify the need
• Connect with your supports
• Secure funding in your plan
• Engage a qualified provider

Not sure where to start? Our Support Coordination team can help you navigate your NDIS plan, connect with the right providers, and get the support you need.

Every behaviour communicates something.

Behaviour can be a way to express a need, seek comfort, or cope when things feel overwhelming.

When behaviours become unsafe or start to impact quality of life, independence, or relationships, they’re often described as 'challenging behaviours' or 'behaviours of concern'.

In our latest blog, we explain what challenging behaviours are, why they happen, and how the right support can make a real difference.

Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team focuses on understanding the meaning behind behaviour and creating strategies that improve quality of life.

Transitions from hospital to home can be complex, time‑critical, and challenging, particularly for people with complex support needs.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Kim Adamson, will be joined by Caroline Yates, Director of SN Services, to explore how health, disability, and community services can work more effectively together to support safe, timely hospital discharges and smoother transitions back into the community.

This session will focus on improving coordination, strengthening partnerships, and achieving better outcomes for people during hospital‑to‑home transitions.

If you work across health, disability, or community services, this is an important conversation to be part of.

Each year, the 7News Young Achiever Awards celebrate, encourage, and showcase the outstanding achievements of young West Australians.

The awards recognise exceptional individuals across a wide range of fields, highlighting the positive impact of the next generation of leaders.

This year, we are excited to announce that Mosaic’s Chief Executive Officer, Rob Wilton, is part of the judging panel. Rob brings valuable leadership experience and a long-standing commitment to supporting Western Australian communities.

Speaking about the opportunity, Rob said, “It’s a privilege to be involved with recognising the achievements of young people making a real difference.”

The 7News Young Achiever Awards Gala Presentation will take place on 3 July, and we look forward to celebrating the winners.

Today we celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), a day to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion.

Digital accessibility means designing websites, apps, presentations, and digital content in a way that everyone can use them, including people with disability.

Simple and thoughtful practices can make a big difference. These include:
• Adding alt text to images so screen readers can describe them
• Using clear headings and readable fonts, using minimum 12 point size
• Making sure there’s good colour contrast
• Enabling keyboard navigation for people who don’t use a mouse
• Including captions on videos
• Providing transcripts for video or audio content (like podcasts)

If you’d like to learn more about how to create accessible and inclusive content, the Australian Government has developed a helpful guide to support equal access for all. Visit: https://www.stylemanual.gov.au/accessible-and-inclusive-content
