VERROA MITE. Following our post yesterday concerning the public meeting at the Jamestown Medical Centre convened by S Aust PIRSA, we can offer the following information. Verroa Mite has been detected in S Aust - just north of Pt Augusta, at Port Davis, and through parts of the Riverland and some other areas, no detections yet in the Jamestown area. However a 25km radius zone applies from the known detection locations, for our area this includes, Melrose, Wirrabara, etc.

28mm of rain on Sunday up to about 4.00pm did not stop everyone from attending our bi-monthly BBQ. The rain was most welcome though, and it will make a difference to our gardens.

Our bi-monthly BBQ is this Sunday (22/2/2026) @ 11.00 am. Visitors welcome, members bring a salad, supply your own meat and drinks.

A bit of a clean-up has been happening at the garden in the last couple of weeks. Weeds have been sprayed, some have been skimmed, some pruning of a couple of trees, and some more fruit trees planted. Thanks to those members.

The Christmas B.B.Q. was held today with attending members enjoying a great meal, and good company. See you all next year at our first 2026 NATTER AND NIBBLES, Friday 30th January @ 10.00am.

Back to having our regular last Friday of the month NATTER & NIBBLES, which was well attended by most of the garden members. The next NATTER & NIBBLES will be on Friday November 28th at the garden, at 10.00am, visitors and people who would like to join our group are welcome.
