💙💛 MEET THE TEAM 💙💛
This week we’re introducing George Seppelt, Vice President, NASA Delegate & Show Announcer for the Jamestown Show, as we celebrate 150 years of country, community & tradition!
How long have you been involved with the show?
Since I was born in 1999, I haven’t missed a Jamestown Show. My dad was President in 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2014, so the show has always been a big part of my life. Some of my earliest memories are ‘helping’ in the Show Office. As I got older, my family entered cooking, eggs, fruit, and vegetables in the Stacey Pavilion, and Dad and I also spent several years showing poultry. I later joined the committee in media and marketing, became Rural Ambassador Convenor, and now serve as Vice President.
What’s your favourite thing about show week?
Seeing Victoria Park come alive for the community. Catching up with friends and seeing everyone come together.
What does 150 years of the show mean to you?
150 years is a major milestone. It’s important to celebrate our history while continuing to improve our show every year. Reaching Show number 150 is a true testament to the incredible community support behind such an important local event.
Finish this sentence: The Jamestown Show wouldn’t be the same without…
The continued support of our sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and community.
If the committee was stranded at the showgrounds, who would survive the longest… and why? 😅
Matt Scharkie — because he can talk his way into and out of anything!
