A powerful turn out today. We had a running installation where community can pop in and do a handprint for the 48 women murdered this year in Australia.
Ipswich is standing up and saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Roughly 40 people took the pledge of protection for Ipswich children and women and have a badge to wear loud and proud.

Thank you to everyone involved in organizing, providing supplies, making badges, music, drinks, and a circus show.

We are stronger, together, and will make the future we want, together.

This Saturday at 10am, join us to say IPSWICH SAYS NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!

We will be doing a mural with the women who have been murdered this year, and have a section for people to do their own handprint.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We are jailing kids, and doing nothing for those who use Domestic Violence. When one man punched another man and he died, the world stopped and "safe night out" zones/ "one punch kills" laws came effortlessly.
47 WOMEN have been murdered this year.
No prevention classes in school, no mandatory education in workplaces, no royal commission.

COME AT 10AM, AND JOIN IPSWICH TO SAY WE HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE. WE WILL PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY.

Our Women are being hurt, stalked, sexually assaulted and killed, and we are fu***ng tired of watching it happen whilst our government does s**t all.

NIFS is creating a pilot program to fund practical, intense self-defence training for women through BJJ, MMA and Boxing, starting with one local gym who supports our mission, providing private weekly classes.

No, women are not responsible for men's violence.
Yes, women deserve the skills, strength and confidence to fight back; regardless of what they earn.

We’re also sharing .now ;an anonymous map where women can mark experiences of violence, harassment or intimidation, around the world.

An INSANE amount of food donations was recieved today by the amazing community. THANK YOU!
Over 50 bags of shelf food, dignity items and hygiene products.

Tonight our lights are purple. Jana Armstrong was the 37TH WOMAN to be murdered by a man who uses violence, this year in Australia. We are in week 28 of 2026.
We do not do enough as a society to protect our women and prevent murders by people who use violence.
Jana was 30 YEARS OLD.
Murdering our women, is PREVENTABLE.
Femicide, is PREVENTABLE.

Domestic violence isn't always physical.
It looks like being scared of sharing things with your partner.
Being forced to share your location or where you are /who you're with.
Constant contact from you partner in form of many calls and texts throughout the day checking on you or wanting information.
Controlling where you go, who you see and speak to, what you wear, how you spend your money.
Jealousy and threats of violence.
Making you change behavior around them.

END THE CULTURE OF SILENCE AROUND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Educate yourself about domestic violence.
If you suspect someone is being abused, report it. If someone is in immediate danger, call police.

A universe reminder today. 🔥
In the past 2 years, I've had grown men stand outside my bedroom screaming, “F**K YOU F**KING FAGGOT.” and grown men screaming from their cars "DIE YOU GAY BITCH"

Currently, I have a grown man pulling up before sunrise and holding down his horn for minutes at my house, Monday to Friday, waking up the entire street, because he hates what this house stands for. Some mornings I wake up crying from it.

Then I opened my letterbox and found this.

A young trans man wrote that driving past our fence gave him hope while he was struggling to find THE WILL TO STAY ALIVE.

That sentence split me open.

Because while hateful people try to make me afraid in my own home, q***r people are quietly fighting to stay alive in theirs.

North Ipswich Free Shop is proud to be openly left, q***r, anti state and pro community.
NIFS is for community protection and support.

HATE CRIMES, harassment at my safe home will not stop me.
It is a reflection of you, not me.
For those who call NIFS an "EYESORE" ,
You're looking at paint. We're looking at people.
