Last Saturday, Amanda and Laura from our fundraising team were out celebrating a very special milestone β€” the Esk Hospital Centenary Fair, marking 100 years of care, compassion and service to the community, hosted by the local hospital auxiliary.

For a century, Esk Hospital has looked after generations of local families across the Somerset Region, and this free community fair was the perfect way to mark it. Everyone who went along also caught a fascinating glimpse into the hospital's past through some of the historical memorabilia on display πŸ₯🩺

We had some fun raffle prizes up for grabs, and it was so great to see Jaiden take home the toy hamper, and Rosemary walk away as the very proud owner of a new mountain bike.

Thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket, stopped by for a chat, grabbed some merch or came along to help celebrate this huge milestone. Esk, you did 100 years proud πŸ˜„

Go Pink is back for another October, and we hope you'll join us πŸ’—

Every October, West Moreton comes together to raise awareness of breast cancer and fund vital care, close to home. However you choose to get involved this year, every action helps local women and families affected by breast cancer.

Today, the Boonah Hospital Sunflower Sphere was officially unveiled.

The sculpture is now in place at the front of Boonah Hospital, featuring engraved sunflowers from so many generous members of our community.

A huge thank you to Jenny Jenner from Kalbar Sunflowers for bringing this initiative to life. Thank you to local artists Wendy and Rob Badke, who designed and handcrafted the sphere. And thank you to Halie from Scenic Rim Trophies Boonah for the engraving that gives each sunflower its story 🌻

We also want to thank the incredible West Moreton Health team at Boonah Hospital, who created this beautiful space for the sphere and who continue to provide incredible care to our community.

To everyone who sponsored a sunflower, thank you for helping create a lasting, beautiful space for patients, families and staff at Boonah Hospital.

We're proud to help Susan honour Bob's memory in a way that will benefit the region for years to come.

Susan was recently featured on ABC News, sharing more about the Robert Soltys Rural Nurses Fund and what it means locally. We can't wait to keep building on this together, and to see the difference it continues to make for West Moreton Health staff and rural communities.

During the four years Wayne spent as a DonateLife nurse at Ipswich Hospital, he cared for a patient who became an organ donor after passing away, and later received a letter from the person who'd received that patient's heart.

The recipient wanted to say thank you, and to share that the transplant had given him something he never thought he'd have more of β€” time with his children.

As Wayne puts it, "Organ and tissue donation is important because people's lives are important."
