5 sleeps until our Pyjama Party Disco! The countdown is on! We can’t wait to see your best dancing moves.

Just a reminder that parents will need to stay for the Prep–2 disco, while Years 3–6 is a drop-and-go event. If you would like to volunteer to assist at either event, please let Mrs Erksine know via email.

✨Come dressed in your best sporting gear - Simultaneous Story Time – Monday 1 June✨

Students at St Joseph’s will be celebrating Simultaneous Story Time with their buddies—an exciting whole-school literacy event! 📚

To join in the fun, students are invited to come dressed in their favourite sporting attire (jerseys, team shirts, scarves or beanies). Please ensure they wear closed-in shoes (no football boots).

This year’s book, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, shares a powerful message about perseverance, teamwork and believing in yourself. 🦘⚽

We’re looking forward to a joyful celebration of reading and community! 💛

On Monday, our students attended their first netball carnival of the season at Downey Park. After a very last-minute reschedule due to weather, the excitement was absolutely buzzing as everyone arrived ready to play.

Across the day, both teams faced some strong competition and showed incredible tenacity, determination and teamwork. The Blue team worked hard in every match and were thrilled to secure their first win later in the day—demonstrating patience, persistence and resilience. The Gold team had an outstanding day on the court, finishing undefeated and conceding just six points across seven games. Their consistency, skill and teamwork saw them finish as winners of their division and proudly bring home medals. For many of our students, this was their first experience playing in a netball carnival, and we are incredibly proud of the effort, sportsmanship and support they showed one another throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Allison, Amy, Matthew, Shelley and Simone for transporting our students—we truly couldn’t have attended without your support. Thank you also to the parents and grandparents who came along to cheer from the sidelines. A special mention to Hannah for attending despite being injured and being such a wonderful supporter, and to Mrs Bain for generously giving her time to umpire.

Well done to all players on a fantastic first carnival!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our former St Joseph’s students, Leah Leembruggen!

A dedicated and talented athlete, Leah recently had the honour of wearing the green and gold for the first time, representing Australia at the Oceania Championships in the U17 100m Hurdles.
Leah achieved an outstanding SILVER MEDAL 🥈, along with a personal best time of 14.07 seconds—all into a -1.4m/s headwind!

Congratulations, Leah, on this incredible achievement. You are a true inspiration and role model for our St Joseph’s community.
Your journey reminds us that with hard work, perseverance, and a willingness to listen, learn and grow, anything is possible. 💫
We can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
👏👏👏

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our Executive Director Dr Sally Towns.

Our deepest condolences to Dr Sally Towns’ family and friends. A remarkable woman who led BCE so admirably.

Eternal rest grant unto you Sally, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

Brisbane Catholic Education celebrates the life and service of Executive Director, Dr Sally Towns, who passed away following a courageous battle with cancer.

Across more than 30 years in Catholic education, Dr Towns served with faith, warmth and extraordinary dedication. During her four years as Executive Director of BCE, Sally led our 146 schools with vision, warmth and a steadfast commitment to faith-filled, inclusive and high-quality education for every student.

She leaves a remarkable legacy and was an inspiration to all who worked alongside her. We will remember her leadership with gratitude for the hope she brought, the standards she set, and the lives she shaped through Catholic education.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Sally’s family and we thank God for her life of service. May she rest in peace.
