🎉 Come celebrate NAIDOC LOCKYER VALLEY Week with us! 🎉

NAIDOC Week 2026 is extra special this year. The theme is 50 Years of Deadly, marking five decades of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and communities. For fifty years, NAIDOC themes have captured stories of survival, resistance, pride and culture, carried forward by generations of organisers, artists, activists and community members who refused to be silenced. This year, we celebrate that legacy and everything it represents.

Join Kambu Health’s NAIDOC week celebrations at Ferrari Park in Laidley for a fun-filled day for the whole family. There will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance troupes, kids activities, community service information booths, food and drinks, and plenty of stalls to browse.

📅 Thursday 9 July 2026
⏰ 9:00am – 2:00pm
📍 Ferrari Park, Laidley

It can be hard to know how to support a young person with study, particularly when their motivation is low or school feels overwhelming.

Motivation often builds when young people can see the purpose in what they’re doing, feel recognised for their effort, and have a balance of structure and support around them.

Being present, patient, and supportive can go a long way. Every young person is different, so it’s important to check in with them about what they need. What works for them might also change over time.

It’s the beginning of Reconciliation Week 🖤❤️💛 We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work today. We stand in solidarity with all First Nations people.
Reconciliation is not a single day or decision, it’s a continued journey. One where we honour the past, listen deeply in the present, and build better futures together.

29 years since the bringing them home report was released, what does sorry into action mean in real action, in real relationships? At headspace Ipswich, we’ve been speaking with Elders from our Family and Friends Reference Group, staff and young people about what “Sorry into Action” means in our community. Through these conversations, we’re proud to be creating a regular morning tea where Elders can come together to relax, connect with young people at our centre. Our first morning tea will be held on National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day on August 4, with more details to come soon.
