๐Ÿš’ Weekend Meet the Team: Captain Shane Frogley ๐Ÿš’

This week, weโ€™re proud to introduce Captain Shane Frogley, whose long-standing commitment to the CFA has shaped a lifetime of service and leadership.

With 42 years in the CFA, Shane continues to lead the Inverloch Fire Brigade with experience, calm leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility. For the past 9 years in Inverloch, he has overseen brigade operations, supported the Lieutenant team, and helped ensure the brigade is always prepared to respond when needed.

Shaneโ€™s journey in the CFA spans decades. Before Inverloch, he served around 10 years at Lilydale Brigade, and earlier at Badger Creek, building on a proud family connection to the service. His grandfather and his brothers helped establish the Badger Creek Brigade in the 1930s, and both his father and grandfather also served there. That tradition continues today through his son, who is an active member of the Wonthaggi Brigade.

Alongside the CFA, Shane is also a member of the Inverloch SES, assisting with storm response and marine rescue operations. He is currently working towards his Master up to 3 nautical miles licence, further extending his capability on the water.

Outside of emergency services, Shane works as an electrician. He has been married for 30 years to his wife, who also serves with the Inverloch Fire Brigade. Together they have raised three sons and are now proud grandparents.

When he gets the chance, Shane enjoys spending time out on the water fishingโ€”something he has always valued as a way to unwind.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you, Captain Shane Frogley, for your ongoing leadership, commitment, and many years of service to the community.

๐Ÿš’ Weekend Meet the Team ๐Ÿš’

This week weโ€™re putting the spotlight on Daniel ๐Ÿ‘‡

As one of our newest members to join the brigade, Daniel is a proud local who has lived in Inverloch for coming on 6 years. He stepped up to volunteer because he wanted a hands-on way to help his local community, save lives, and protect property.

Daniel recently completed his General Firefighter (GFF) training, which gave him invaluable, real-world experience into what firefighting is truly about. Since then, he has hit the ground running and is now also FMR (Fire Medical Response) qualified! That means Daniel is fully prepared to respond to a wide range of emergency calls, doing what the CFA does best when our community needs it most. He is incredibly excited to officially join the boys and girls in yellow.

Outside the brigade, Daniel keeps busy as a New and Used Car salesman in Leongatha, and is a dedicated family manโ€”married with 3 kids.

We are thrilled to have you on board, Daniel, and we know you have a fantastic journey and a bright future ahead with the brigade! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

From today the Inverloch Fire Brigade are trained and ready to respond to Triple Zero (000) calls as part of the new Fire Medical Response program. Starting from May 27th we will be brought online.

This means when you call Triple Zero (000) for a suspected cardiac arrest in our area CFA and Ambulance Victoria paramedics will be dispatched simultaneously โ€“ which means an ambulance and a fire truck may arrive at your home.

We are proud to support this joint initiative between CFA and Ambulance Victoria to improve patient outcomes in medical emergencies like cardiac arrest.

๐Ÿš’ Weekend Meet the Team ๐Ÿš’

This week weโ€™re putting the spotlight on Ross ๐Ÿ‘‡

In just 2 years with the brigade, Ross has already stepped up into a specialised role as an External Structure Breathing Apparatus (BA) Operator ๐Ÿ”ฅ

That means when conditions get tough at external building or car fires, Ross can work in close range using breathing apparatus equipment to safely operate in heavy smoke and hazardous environments. A huge responsibility and an important role on the fireground.

Ross joined CFA to give back to the community, challenge himself, and be part of a team built on purpose, trust and mateship. That sense of connection is what keeps him going ๐Ÿค

Outside the brigade, Ross works as a community worker and is also a carer for his mum.

Off duty youโ€™ll usually find him training at the gym or
chasing adrenaline on the snow, wind or waves ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ‚

Thank you for your dedication and ongoing service, Ross! ๐Ÿ‘
