๐Ÿš’ Weekend Meet the Team ๐Ÿš’

This week weโ€™re putting the spotlight on Daniel ๐Ÿ‘‡

As one of our newest members to join the brigade, Daniel is a proud local who has lived in Inverloch for coming on 6 years. He stepped up to volunteer because he wanted a hands-on way to help his local community, save lives, and protect property.

Daniel recently completed his General Firefighter (GFF) training, which gave him invaluable, real-world experience into what firefighting is truly about. Since then, he has hit the ground running and is now also FMR (Fire Medical Response) qualified! That means Daniel is fully prepared to respond to a wide range of emergency calls, doing what the CFA does best when our community needs it most. He is incredibly excited to officially join the boys and girls in yellow.

Outside the brigade, Daniel keeps busy as a New and Used Car salesman in Leongatha, and is a dedicated family manโ€”married with 3 kids.

We are thrilled to have you on board, Daniel, and we know you have a fantastic journey and a bright future ahead with the brigade! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

From today the Inverloch Fire Brigade are trained and ready to respond to Triple Zero (000) calls as part of the new Fire Medical Response program. Starting from May 27th we will be brought online.

This means when you call Triple Zero (000) for a suspected cardiac arrest in our area CFA and Ambulance Victoria paramedics will be dispatched simultaneously โ€“ which means an ambulance and a fire truck may arrive at your home.

We are proud to support this joint initiative between CFA and Ambulance Victoria to improve patient outcomes in medical emergencies like cardiac arrest.

๐Ÿš’ Weekend Meet the Team ๐Ÿš’

This week weโ€™re putting the spotlight on Ross ๐Ÿ‘‡

In just 2 years with the brigade, Ross has already stepped up into a specialised role as an External Structure Breathing Apparatus (BA) Operator ๐Ÿ”ฅ

That means when conditions get tough at external building or car fires, Ross can work in close range using breathing apparatus equipment to safely operate in heavy smoke and hazardous environments. A huge responsibility and an important role on the fireground.

Ross joined CFA to give back to the community, challenge himself, and be part of a team built on purpose, trust and mateship. That sense of connection is what keeps him going ๐Ÿค

Outside the brigade, Ross works as a community worker and is also a carer for his mum.

Off duty youโ€™ll usually find him training at the gym or
chasing adrenaline on the snow, wind or waves ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ‚

Thank you for your dedication and ongoing service, Ross! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš’ Weekend Meet the Team ๐Ÿš’

Today weโ€™re introducing Michael Guest ๐Ÿ‘‡

Michael is our 3rd Lieutenant here at Inverloch, bringing 4 years of service with the brigade. His role is crucial behind the scenes, ensuring our equipment and vehicles are always ready when it matters most.

He oversees inventory and hose testing, making sure everything on our trucks is present, in date, and fully operational. From regularly testing hoses to checking that every vehicle is response-ready, Michael plays a key part in keeping our brigade prepared for any situation.

Michaelโ€™s CFA journey began at Ruby CFA, where he dedicated 13 years of service, including two terms as Captain. His experience and leadership continue to be a valuable asset to our team.

For Michael, itโ€™s all about community ๐Ÿค
He enjoys meeting local people and supporting the Inverloch community, which is at the heart of everything we do.

Outside the brigade, Michael works full-time as a truck driver with Holcim Concrete. Heโ€™s also passionate about giving back, having completed 6 Firefighter Stair Climbs in Melbourne and 2 Sky Tower Stair Climbs in New Zealand, raising money for various charities along the way ๐Ÿ’ช

Thank you for your dedication and ongoing service, Michael! ๐Ÿ‘
