Today we honour the enduring Legacy of a local legend.
We are deeply moved to share that the late Peter Kearsey OAM has been posthumously awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2026 King's Birthday Honours List. This prestigious honour recognises Peter’s decades of selfless dedication to the Inverell community, including his work with Legacy. While Peter is no longer with us to accept it in person, his impact will be felt for generations to come. His family will proudly receive the insignia at an upcoming investiture ceremony. Join us in congratulating Peter’s family on this beautiful, well-deserved recognition of a life spent helping others.

Thank you to the management, staff & patrons of Warialda Golf and Bowling Club. The funds you have raised will be used to locally to provide support & assistance to the 4 Legacy beneficiaries who live in Warialda. The families will soon be provided with a winter susbsidy to assist with the extra cost of heating over winter.

Thankyou to everyone who supported LEGACY at the Warialda Golf and Bowling Club Post Dawn Service Breakfast, 2 UP and by putting change in the LEGACY Tin Hat. We raised $590

We have a position vacant in our Office for a school based trainee. If you know someone that is interested, contact our Office or your school's Career's advisor.

We are starting a weekly series to explain School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs) to parents/families. Research has found that parents/families are the single greatest influence on a young person’s education and career decisions.

This simple information shall hopefully assist you to start having these important conversations, but should you want more information please contact your Careers Adviser or SBAT Engagement Officer.

So, let us begin, for students, a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) is a head start to their career combining paid work, training and school.
