The new Escaping Violence Payment program started this week, delivering tailored assistance valued at up to $5,000 for people escaping violent relationships.

This payment will assist women and men experiencing financial abuse and coercive control in violent relationships, which make it much more difficult to leave.

It is now available through our service provider UnitingCare Australia Consortium - with up to $1,500 in cash and the remainder (up to $5000 total) available for goods, services and other supports to help establish a safe home.

The Morrison Government is absolutely committed to ending domestic, family and sexual violence and this new program offers another tool in the toolkit under our record $1.1 billion investment in women’s safety.
