QFF is hosting a Tips and Tools for Tough Times workshop for farmers on Thursday 18 June with Elizabeth McNaughton, Founder of Disastrous.

Farming is unpredictable. Drought, natural disasters, global market shifts, and the pressure of carrying it all can wear even the toughest of us down. This workshop is your chance to step back, connect with others who get it, and arm yourself and those around you with some genuinely useful tools.

Elizabeth will guide you through the Doing Well cards, a practical deck of 100 cards that distils decades of recovery knowledge and neuroscience into simple, everyday actions. You'll build a personalised wellbeing and resilience plan you can actually use on the farm.

Local food resilience isn't just about moving food. It's about reproducing the human capacity to grow food. As well as our Farmer Education programs, we are happy to promote grassroots initiatives to build everyone's capacity to grow their own! Below is an upcoming event from Cairns Seedsavers. There are a few Seed Saving groups across the far north - check out your local group, or community garden, and get your hands in the soil this growing season.

(3) Participatory: - "The Big Stir" visitors join us in stirring 40 litres of BD500 continuously for the day and then at 5pm we “anoint the earth in the park” with our “Prepared BD500” with the days collective intent towards our fertile healthy earth.
