Cardwell Chamber of Commerce is collaborating with Girringun Aboriginal Corporation and Partners in Grime to activate a community donation centre.

Donations can be dropped off to Partners in Grime at 2/27 Kieth Williams Drive , Port Hinchinbrook by calling Mahgan on 0435108523.

🚨 JOINT MEDIA STATEMENT: Disaster loans activated for north Queensland farmers, small businesses, and not-for-profits

🚜 Disaster loans activated for North Queensland farmers, small businesses, and not-for-profits
After sustained rains and flooding, disaster-hit primary producers, small businesses , and not-for-profits in seven northern Queensland council areas can now apply for concessional loans to assist with their recovery.

📍 Eligible Local Government Areas (LGAs):
Burdekin, Cairns, Cassowary Coast, Hinchinbrook, Palm Island, Townsville, and Yarrabah
(provided through the joint Commonwealth-state Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements 🇦🇺🤝)

Disaster Assistance Loans:
Up to $250,000 for eligible primary producers and small businesses
Up to $100,000 for eligible not-for-profits
These loans will help re-establish operations by covering costs related to:
🔧 Repairing or replacing damaged plant and equipment
🏚️ Repairing or replacing buildings
🐄 Resupplying stock or livestock
