Exciting discovery at Coconuts Beach!

During our National Monitoring in March with the Mamu Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC Rangers, we stumbled upon an old Platypus fishing spool... Possibly dating back to the 1960s 🤯🎣

Mamu Land Sea Rangers out on country on a wet day building a traditional shelter (MIDJA) at Daradgee Environment Centre for visiting students to gain insights into Mamu and rainforest peoples culture.

Mamu Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC and the Mamu Land Sea Rangers have four positions available for enthusiastic young people (ages 15-24) to complete a 6 month traineeship learning on the job while completing a Certificate 1 in Conservation and Ecosystem Management that includes Remote First Aid, Chainsaw 1, Chem cert and other certificates. The job is all on Mamu Country from the coast to the high uplands within the catchments of the North and South Johnstone Rivers. Various NRM works completed throughout your time with potential ongoing work to eligible trainees.

Mamu Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC and Mamu LandSea Rangers are looking for casual field staff to assist the rangers with a number of NRM jobs within Mamu Country. If you have a manual drivers license, a blue card or able to gain one, up for a challenge and like working outdoors and looking after country. Make contact and we will forward a EOI form.
